TAG Heuer’s ever-popular Link collection is getting an update for the fall season. The Link collection, first introduced in 1987, has easily become one of TAG Heuer’s top selling models with its ergonomic design that combines a sporty yet classic aesthetic. The Link watches have a sleek-streamlined look that is characterized by the unique, s-shaped links on the watch bracelet. This elegant feature alone allows these watches to rise above the label of “just another sports watch.”
For the most part, the new series of Link watches to be released this fall are a more refined version of the Link watches that came out in 2007. The brush textured s-shaped links on the bracelet have lost their rounded look to give the bracelet a more contoured appearance. The case has also been brush-finished with a fixed rather than rotating bezel and shorted lugs on the side of the case.
The new Link series with have either a Swiss, mechanical, or TAG Heuer’s Calibre S movement with a chronograph function. The white or black dials will now have a guilloche texture with slightly thinner markers. The Link watches will be primarily available in stainless steel, but there will be a two-tone yellow gold model as well. All models will have a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with double sided anti-reflective treatment.

Since 1912 the company has been family owned and operated. Born in Miami Beach, Scott King literally grew up in his family’s store. Nevertheless, when Scott King went off to college in the late ’60s, he had no intention of going into the family business. After graduating, at his father’s request, he returned to Miami Beach to lend a hand. That was more than 40 years ago, and he has been continuing the family legacy ever since. Scott assumed the role of president in 1986 and has since risen to become CEO and one of the most respected authorities on diamonds, precious stones and estate jewelry in the Southeastern United States. A gemologist, throughout his career, Scott King has dedicated himself and the resources of King Jewelers to the design and manufacturing of diamond, platinum and gold creations that represent the perfect marriage of quality, craftsmanship and value.

This year at Baselworld, the Platinum Guild International organized The Platinum Design Awards where no less than 36 manufactures contributed platinum jewelry designs for the competition. The show was judged by over 30 visiting international journalists and awards were given to designs in three different categories. Roberto Coin stole the show by winning 1st place in the platinum “Trends” category with a piece entitled “Animalier.” The piece is a stunning platinum sea-turtle brooch set with round-cut white diamonds and features a large white baroque South Sea pearl on the top of the turtle’s shell.

Los Angeles, CA – June 11th, 2011 – The 10th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball took place recently at the estate of Susan Harris and Hayward J. Kaiser to honor actress Olivia Wilde, Scott Stuber, Richard Weitz, and Dianna Thomas for their activist work. The event itself was sponsored by Chrysalis, a non-profit charity organization that works to support homeless and low-income individuals by helping them find and retail employment.
