After an impressive third place finish in the Modified Harley-Davidson Class at the 2011 AMD World Championships in Sturgis, South Dakota, Shaw Harley-Davidson’s Bell & Ross inspired custom built Nascafe Racer was exhibited in Nashville, TN on October 21, 2011, with King Jewelers and Harley Davidson of Columbia, TN. The event was hosted at Tavern in Midtown Nashville as guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and motorcycles in style. Stacie Orloff, President of Bell & Ross, and Eric Frank, National Sales Manager, joined David King and the King Jewelers team as the new 2011 Bell & Ross timepieces were on display including the Vintage WW1 collection and the limited edition Airborne Tourbillon.
The custom bike is based on the Harley-Davidson FXSTB Softail Nightrain, one of the more radical Softails. The motorcycle was constructed in the Speed & Custom workshop of the East Sussex dealership. A BR 01-92 Carbon watch was mounted in a handcrafted center console using a machined section of aluminum. A combination of anodized blue, carbon and stealth-like matte black custom paint was used on the bike to reflect the timepiece.
“We wanted to mirror the Bell & Ross timepiece wherever we could on the motorcycle and to ensure that the essential piece was never compromised by superfluous design or items,” said Steve Willis, Shaw Harley-Davidson Sales Director and Head of the Speed & Custom design wing of the dealership.
“We were immediately excited by this project, explains Bruno Belamich, designer and co- founder of Bell & Ross. We identified with the values embodied by Harley-Davidson, values that we share such as the search for adventure, precision and the extreme.”
The award-winning custom Harley was also displayed at Traditional Jewelers in Newport Beach, California on September 29th and Hyde Park Jewelers in Denver, Colorado on October 14th. Second Harvest of Middle Tennessee’s Mission and History
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee opened its doors in 1978 with commitment from several community leaders. The purpose of the organization was to provide a central distribution center for companies, groups and individuals who wished to help provide food for hungry people in Middle Tennessee. Second Harvest’s mission is to feed hungry people and work to solve hunger issues in our community.
Modeled after the first food bank established in Phoenix in the mid-1970s, Second Harvest was designed to collect food that would otherwise be wasted, inspect and sort this food, and distribute it to soup kitchens, pantries, and shelters serving the hungry. During the first year, this process resulted in a total distribution of 160,000 pounds of food to 75 member agencies.
Today, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is one of the largest and most comprehensive of over 200 food banks and food distribution centers nationwide. During the 2009/2010 fiscal year, Second Harvest distributed more than 53.3 million pounds of food to hungry men, women and children.
Second Harvest’s vision of ending hunger is more important than ever. Hunger is a big problem, and we need everyone’s help to solve this issue. According to the USDA, an estimated 49 million Americans are at risk of hunger, and almost 14 million U.S. children under 18 are food insecure. One in five children in the state of Tennessee are food insecure, and in Middle Tennessee alone, 31 percent of the people Second Harvest serves are children.

Forevermark Introduces 3D Virtual Try-on Technology Tool
Forevemark, the De Beers’ diamond brand, has launched a virtual try-on experience that allows users to try on pendants, earrings and rings all while sitting in front of their computers.
My Forevermark Fitting begins by first asking visitors to download the virtual try-on application, which works on modern PCs and Macs, but not on iPads, netbooks or mobile devices. Once the application is downloaded, users are instructed to print out the Forevermark ring, earring and pendant markers and cut out the markers along the dotted lines.
Users then are instructed to hold up the cut-outs to their web cams. What users then see in the screen is an image of themselves “wearing” that particular pendant, ring or earring, which sparkles and moves with them in real time. The try-on sessions can be shared with family and friends via Facebook and Twitter.
A total of 12 pieces are available for “try-on,” including classic ear studs, a princess-cut solitaire ring and a pear-cut diamond pendant.
De Beers worked with creative agency AKQA and London-based Holition, a company that specializes in creating augmented reality experiences, to create My Forevermark Fitting.
