From May 31 through June 3, this event gathers all of the professionals of the jewelry industry and gives them a chance to discover some of the latest trends and sought after international designers. Gatsby and The 1920s Style
With the resurgence of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic tale, the Great Gatsby, to the big screen directed by Baz Luhrmann, everyone has the 1920s on their mind. And for good reason I’d say. The 1920s was the decade in which fashion entered the modern era. Women decided to ditch the restricted fashions of the past and begin a whole new era of short skirts and trousers. So what does that mean for women today? Here’s a few ‘Gatsby Inspired’ looks that remind you why the 1920s were referred to as the “Roaring Twenties.”

Introducing The Breitling Transocean Chronograph GMT
Breitling introduces a new addition to the contemporary classic Transocean collection. The Breitling Transocean Chronograph is now offered with a GMT function and is available in red gold or steel limited editions. The new model features an elegant guilloche dial with an in-house manufactured movement B04 that can be seen through the transparent sapphire caseback.
This Breitling movement chronograph caliber B04 is completely developed and
manufactured in-house within the Breitling workshops. It is extremely practical and incorporates an innovative and patented second timezone mechanism. This movement is also chronometer certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute). The mechanism is built in a way when the user reaches different parts of the globe, he only needs to pull the crown and turn in forwards or backwards in one-hour increments in order to instantly adjust to the time and date of the new timezone. This movement maintains a 24-hour home-time indicator and the time-zone adjustment is made without losing any precision in terms of the minutes display.
The case is 43mm and is available in a Barenia crocodile strap or a steel mesh strap.Some other notable aesthetic features include a distinguished silver or black guilloche dial with a beveled bezel case and slender lugs. The counters are also recessed and the “B” initial that is the brand’s symbol is also detailed with a touch of 18k gold.
This model is limited to 200 pieces in red gold and 2000 in steel. The Breitling Transocean Chronograph GMT displays the an impeccable balance or enduring style, performance, and user friendliness.

Birthstone Spotlight: Emerald (May)
As it goes, April showers bring May flowers… and along with it comes the celebration of the birthstone gem, Emerald. Loyalty, faithfulness and friendship are just a few of the properties associated with the Emerald, a gemstone that is mostly found in Colombia, Brazil, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Who first beholds the light of day
In spring’s sweet, flower month of May
And wears an Emerald all her life
Shall be a loved and a loving wife.
The Emerald stone has found itself on the head, ears, neck and wrist of queens and celebrities from Angelina Jolie (I think most would remember: Oscars 2009) to Queen Frederika of Greece (featured in bottom right corner of photo below).
FUN FACT: The world’s largest cut emerald is known as the Teodora, or Gift of God, a 57,500 carat opaque emerald roughly the size of a watermelon.
