King Jewelers supports the First Tennessee Nashville Predators Brent Peterson Celebrity Golf Classic

As the official jewelers of the Nashville Predators, King Jewelers proudly sponsored the Nashville Predators Foundation’s annual First Tennessee Nashville Predators Brent Peterson Celebrity Golf Classic, presented by Franklin American Mortgage, on September 6, 2013 at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin. The weekend was highlighted by Preds players, coaches, executives and celebrities are paired up with the different foursomes. There were even several competitions within the fun-packed tournament, such as the standard long drive and closest-to-the-pin contests. The event wrapped up in style on Sunday, September 8 with Petey’s Preds Party that included dinner, a comedic performance by Kevin Nealon at Bridgestone Arena, and a special auction featuring a Tissot men’s T-Touch watch donated by King Jewelers.

“CHUKKERS FOR CHARITY” HOSTED BY CELEBRITY GUEST AND POLO PLAYER JOHN WALSH OF “AMERICA’S MOST WANTED”


FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE — The 2013 Chukkers for Charity event was held on September 7, 2013 at Riverview Farm, home of Orrin and Lee Ann Ingram.
Celebrity guest John Walsh, host of FOX-TV’s “America’s Most Wanted,” and Julio Arellano will participate this year as polo players. His television program has helped take down more than 1,050 fugitives along with bringing home more than 50 missing children. His efforts began in 1981 with the abduction and murder of his six year old son Adam and in 2006 President George W. Bush signed “The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act.”
Julio Arellano was born in Nicaragua in 1972 and raised in Wellington, Florida, where he began to play polo at Palm Beach Polo at the age of 9 with his father, Carlos. Julio has won the FIP World Cup in 1989 for USA, the 22 goal Sunshine League in Royal Palm Polo for January and February, the 22 goal Challenge Cup, 22 goal Sterling Cup, the Herbie Pennell, Joe Barry, Ylvasaker Cup, the Triple Crown in 2009, 4 US Opens, The Monty Waterbury 3 years straight, the America Cup, the Skene Trophy 3 x, and the Susie Fagan and Music City Cup.
The polo match took place Saturday, September 7th, as the gates opened at 12:30 p.m. with opening ceremonies at 2:45 p.m. The match began at 3 p.m. and the vintage car show was held from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. The patrons dinner at 5:30 p.m.
In addition to the polo match, activities this year include a tailgating contest for “Best in Show,” “Most Elegant” and “Honorary Mention.” There is an exciting silent and live auction. The live auction will include a Swiss Army Victorinox men’s watch by sponsor King Jewelers. The Child Fest area will feature a petting zoo, coloring books, a spotted mule and many other crafts and activities. There is a Stick Horse Race scheduled for half-time.
The Annual Chukkers for Charity benefits both Rochelle Center and Saddle Up! Founded in 1972, Rochelle Center is a non-profit agency located in Nashville, providing meaningful day programming, job training and work opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities, enabling them to achieve their highest potential in our community.
Saddle Up! was founded in 1990 in Franklin as Middle Tennessee’s oldest and largest therapeutic recreational riding program for children and youth with physical and mental disabilities. Individually structured equine activities meet the unique needs of each child using special therapy horses,
volunteers and NARAHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified instructors in a safe and fun venue.
