The new Heritage Black Bay will be available with either a stainless steel bracelet (left) or a distressed leather strap (right). Both versions will come with a complimentary black fabric strap (center)

Like the red edition that came before it, the new 41mm steel Black Bay Black features cream colored indexes and “Snowflake” hands, lending an extra splash of character and an overall vintage look to the watch. With it’s 200m waterproof rating, the Black Bay is perfect for dive enthusiasts and casual swimmers alike. TUDOR tends to pay homage to its original timepieces with its latest releases, and the brand has continued that trend with the Black Bay. The domed sapphire crystal and classic lines are reminiscent of TUDOR’s most famous dive watch, the 1954 Submariner. Not only are these watches both mechanically and visually spectacular, but they’re also extremely affordable. The steel bracelet version will be available for $3,425.00 and the leather strap version will be available for just $3,100.00. Featured Product: John Hardy Bamboo Bangle Set

Featured Product: Sterling Silver Bangle Set from John Hardy’s Bamboo Collection

Today’s featured product is from one of Nashville’s newest brands, John Hardy. In light of the fact that our John Hardy Trunk Show is right around the corner, it seemed like the perfect time to talk about why we’re so obsessed with this fashionable addition to our Green Hills salon.
All John Hardy products are produced by craftsman in Bali, where artist John Hardy was vacationing when he first came up with the idea for his own jewelry line. The pieces are reflective of the ancient culture of the region, with bamboo and dragon motifs rampant across the collection. The thing that really makes us love John Hardy, however, is their commitment to being ecologically responsible.
One of John Hardy’s most popular collections is called “Bamboo.” These pieces, as you might guess, emulate the plant that grows in abundance around their facility in Bali. For every piece of “Bamboo” jewelry sold, John Hardy has pledged to plant a number of bamboo seedlings. To date, the company has planted nearly one million bamboo seedlings in Bali. It’s this commitment to the environment that makes us so proud to represent the brand in Nashville.

Explore Our Extensive Selection of John Hardy Pieces Online Now!

Many pieces in the Bamboo collection are striking, but one of our favorite pieces is actually one of their simpler pieces. The Bamboo Set of 3 Slim Sterling Silver Bangles is a great buy and an excellent piece to add to your existing jewelry collection. The three slim bangles feature a bamboo design and come in a variety of sizes to comfortably fit wrists of almost any size. Stackable bangles are always in style, regardless of the season. For each set of three bracelets sold, John Hardy has pledged to plant two bamboo seedlings.
King Jewelers Nashville will host an exclusive John Hardy Trunk Show on Friday October 9th (10AM-6PM) and on Saturday October 10th (10AM-5PM). Brand representatives will be on hand to provide you with a personalized jewelry consultation to help style your perfect new look. During this two day event, King Jewelers will feature an even larger selection than normal, with specialty pieces and brand new releases available in stock for a limited time. Enjoy a complimentary cocktail and have your jewelry cleaned for free while you browse our extensive collection of fine jewelry, Swiss watches, and designer engagement rings and wedding bands.

Fall 2015 Fashion Trends

Our 3 Favorite Fall 2015 Fashion Trends

We’ve been watching the runways so you don’t have to! We’ve chosen our three favorite looks from New York Fashion Week’s Fall 2015 shows and have gathered them here for your convenience.

1. Stay Warm with Shearling

One of our favorite huge fall 2015 fashion trends is shearling trim- which could be seen all over the runways for both women and men. Designers added this material onto a variety of fall staples like coats, vests, and even boots! If you want to stay warm this winter, you don’t have to give up your sense of style and settle for a frumpy, puffy jacket! Invest in a quality wool coat with shearling lining- you’ll escape the chill and be right on-trend.

2. Look Pretty in Plaid

Plaid is everywhere this year- scarves, coats, skirts, ponchos, handbags, shoes… you name it, they make it in plaid! A little bit can go a long way, however, so don’t get too carried away! Add some interest to an otherwise standard fall outfit- jeans, boots, and a basic white button down shirt- with a stylish plaid blazer.

3. Top Off Your Look with a Stylish Hat

Hats off to whoever started this trend, because it’s both stylish and functional! Keeping your head warm is one of the first steps to keeping the rest of you warm as well, and a wide-brimmed felt hat will do just the trick. If the floppy rimmed hipster hat is a little too “of the moment” for your tastes, you’ll always be safe with a nice beanie.

Louis Moinet Memoris Nominated for 2015 GPHG Award

Louis Moinet’s Memoris Nominated for Best Chronograph in the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie of Geneva

You’ve heard us talk a lot about Memoris, the impressive, first-ever chronograph watch created by Louis Moinet. This timepiece puts the traditional “time telling” function of the watch on the back-burner; instead, the chronograph function has been shifted to the most prominent position on the dial.
We’re not the only ones to take notice of this truly revolutionary timepiece, however. This year the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie of Geneva has nominated the Memoris for an award in the Chronograph category. Held annually, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie of Geneva aims “…to yearly highlight and reward high-quality creations in order to nurture the advancement of the watchmaking art and contribute to promoting the watch industry worldwide.”
All watch brands are eligible for nomination in any one of the twelve categories, regardless of their nation of origin. The twelve possible categories include:

  • Best Ladies Watch
  • Best Ladies High-Mechanical Watch
  • Best Men’s Watch
  • Best Chronograph
  • Best Tourbillon
  • Best Calendar
  • Most Striking
  • Best Mechanical Exception
  • Best “Petite Aiguille” (watches with a retail price under CHF 8,000)
  • Best Sports Watch
  • Best Jewellery Watch
  • Best Artistic Crafts

Each category has a host of additional requirements in order for a timepiece to be eligible for nomination. Louis Moinet’s Memoris must beat 72 other nominated watch brands in order to take home the 2015 GPHG for Best Chronograph. An international jury of more than 20 high-ranking individuals in the watch industry will vote to determine a winner in each of the twelve categories. The winners will be announced on October 29th, 2015 at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
