Inspired by the Ferrari design studio in Italy, the Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT made its debut at Baselworld 2019. Unlike the Classic Fusion’s iconic aesthetic, this intriguing watch takes on a different form. Similar to the bewildering Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2, this watch also portrays a smooth and curvy aesthetic. However, it features a seamless blend of both car and watch elements, making it the perfect hybrid.
The Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT is available in titanium, King Gold, and a special polymer matrix composite called 3-D Carbon. Measuring 45mm, the Ferarri GT utilizes Hublot’s UNICO HUB1280 flyback chronograph movement. Only 1,000 pieces of the titanium model will be created, as well as 500 of the 3-D Carbon and King Gold models respectively. A black leather strap leads us to a convex case, forming effortlessly to the shape of the wrist without diminishing the larger-than-life aesthetic. As a futuristic version of its 1963 predecessor, the TAG Heuer Carrera Caliber H02 GMT has watch enthusiasts mesmerized. In honor of the brands 55th anniversary, they’ve introduced a chronograph version of the already-coveted timepiece. Except for this time with an added GMT function. Showcasing the iconic “3-6-9” counter layout from the original model, TAG Heuer leveled up with the creation of this watch.

Zenith Celebrates 50 Years of El Primero

Baselworld 2019 seems to be the year of anniversaries as we discover another brand who definitely has a reason to celebrate. Zenith releases their 50th Anniversary set of the El Primero. This set of three signature timepieces are back in a big, bad way and King Jewelers has the pleasure of reviewing each and every detail for you.

The Original El Primero

As the first full-rotor high-beat chronograph to be released in 1969, the Zenith El Primero is the only timepiece of its generation that is still being remodeled 50 years later. This set comes in a box with a place for four watches. Although only three of the slots are filled, it poses the idea that one day there will be 1/1000th of a second El Primero mechanical chronograph.

El Primero A386 Revival

Physically, the El Primero A386 pays respectable homage to the original 1969 version. However, the major difference between the new release and the original is the use of sapphire crystal on the front and back of the case. In addition, this model is available in 18K white gold, 18K rose gold and 18K yellow gold. Featuring the most updated version of the original caliber 3019 PHC, also known as the El Primero 400, we admire a 50-hour power reserve. A white dial houses three smaller subdials and a date window between hours four and five. To illustrate, minutes rest at three o’clock, seconds at nine o’clock, and hours at six o’clock. This timepiece depicts a seamless blend of vintage and modern characteristics to cater to those in search of the best of both worlds.

Chronomaster 21 El Primero 1/10th of a Second

The Chronomaster 21 El Primero utilizes caliber 3600 and takes on mild discrepancies from its Striking Tenths predecessor. The most recognizable difference would likely be the added ceramic bezel, creating easier elapsed time readability. A 1/10 of a second central hand stands out in red, contrasting the tri-colored, overlapping subdials in muted neutrals. We also admire a small date window at six o’clock, opposite of the Zenith El Primero logo at twelve. The 42mm white gold case rests on a black alligator leather strap with a pop of red in the stitching.

Defy El Primero 21 1/100th of a Second

The last watch in this iconic collection of three timepieces is the Defy El Primero 21. The style of this timepiece stands out among its siblings, showcasing an open dial. El Primero enthusiasts find this modern aesthetic a bit controversial because it strays away from the classic look of the original. However, the tri-colored subdials seen in this model remain the staple characteristic of the El Primero family. The seconds hand makes one revolution around the dial every second which is mesmerizing to watch. A 44mm dial makes this timepiece the biggest of the three masterpieces but the titanium case keeps it from weighing down the wrist. The innovation and technology portrayed in this watch certainly lead us to believe that it serves as the frontrunner of this collection.

These timepieces flaunt a new and improved design inspired by the power and strength of the Grand Seiko lion. In an effort to become the “king of watches,” this company has defied all odds by exposing the intensity of their determination. King Jewelers resonates with these values and are eager to break down these extraordinary new releases.

SBGA403

First, let’s take a look at the SBGA403 automatic timepiece, encompassing the immense strength and integrity of a lion. The high-intensity titanium case is curved inward to ensure a comfortable and secure fit on the wrist. Furthermore, the textured 44.5 mm dial showcases Zaratsu polishing and a gold hairline finish to bestow is with a sense of bravery. On a high-intensity titanium link bracelet, we admire the caliber 9R15, providing a 72-hour power reserve. Spring Drive Chronograph GMT’s (SBGC230, SBGC231)

This year, Baselworld announced the relaunch of the highly-coveted Chanel J12, in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Background Story

The story behind the creation of the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII began with the selection of the most iconic models in IWC history. Hodinkee decided to fuse together the vintage design of the Mark II, with the size and blacked-out case of the 3705 Fliegerchronograph. In brief, Hodinkee drew inspiration from these two highly sought after pieces and married them to the current Mark XVIII. As a result, the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Edition “Hodinkee” was born.

About the Watch

This impressive tool watch depicts a clean design with painted white Arabic numerals. To illustrate, luminescent stick indexes rest at three, six and nine o’clock along with the traditional triangle at 12 o’clock. Moreover, these vintage-style IWC details remind us of the brand’s original tool watches. Measuring 39mm, we also discover an all black Ceratanium® case and bezel. This titanium alloy contains zirconium oxide which hardens into ceramic throughout the metal when paired with heat. Additionally, the matte-black color it leaves behind bestows the timepiece with a contemporary element. Ceratanium® helps the watch to remain lightweight like titanium, as well as, scratch resistant and durable like ceramic. The industrial elegance portrayed by brushed and polished stainless-steel against an asymmetrical dial design leaves watch enthusiasts particularly intrigued.
