This diving watch is most commonly associated with the movie, Apocalypse Now. Captain Willard, portrayed by actor Martin Sheen, was seen with this timepiece adorning his wrist throughout the film. This Seiko dive watch also referred to as the Uemera Diver, accompanied the world-renowned Japanese Polar explorer, Naomi Uemura, throughout his journey into to the North Pole in 1978.

About the Seiko SLA033

The recreation of this prestigious diver, SLA033, utilizes caliber 8l35 that offers a 50-hour power reserve. The 28,800 vph motor proves that this version will bestow a more impressive performance and functionality to those who wear it. The stainless steel case with super-hard coating measures 45mm which is slightly larger than its predecessor. Over the last 40 years, Seiko has made significant improvements in construction and precision. These innovative breakthroughs are obvious in the SLA033, from the Lumibrite indexes and hands to the anti-reflective coating on the dual-curved sapphire crystal. The unidirectional Zaratsu-polished bezel rotates smoothly and precisely. On a black silicon strap, we admire the durability of this watch.
