The Last DeWitt X1 Watch In The World To Be Available at King Jewelers in Aventura

DeWitt Concept Watch 34 WX136M1100
On December 5th King Jewelers will be holding an exclusive dinner with Mr. & Mrs. DeWitt of DeWitt Watches in Miami, Florida.
The first Watch Concept by DeWitt, a contemporary objet d’art, lends a whole new dimension to the watchmaking world.
WX-1, both a Watch Concept and an objet d’art, highlights the creativity of the House of DeWitt which is celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2008. This exceptional creation embodies a range of cultural values merging design, futurism, sophisticated construction of its various elements, and an original interpretation of time read-off. Time and Creation, mental architecture and spatial construction, united in a vision of tomorrow . . .
DeWitt Concept Watch 34 WX136M1100
Representing a daring wager on the future, this pure multidimensional concept offers an entirely new vision of what we refer to as watchmaking. DeWitt is consistently guided by a philosophy of doing things differently, and this principle has now given rise to WX-1. The original concept was apparently quite simple: creating a watch that was different from and indeed far more than a watch. How could one best marry authentic technological innovations and advanced aesthetics? The result of the conceptual approach had to be unprecedented, technical and highly exclusive, so as to assert itself as the embodiment of contemporary watchmaking art.

Explore the collection of DeWitt Watches from King Jewelers

Everything about WX-1 confirms that this daring bid has been successful in terms of both form and content.

Embodying the multicultural art of watchmaking

The genesis of this objet d’art stems from a momentous encounter between two individuals. The object designed and developed under the name of WX-1 tells a story, that of two exceptional friends, Jérôme de Witt and Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The designer and the architect blended their curiosity and talent, uniting their thoughts in pursuing the single-minded goal of developing an object intended to measure time – but also and above all endowed with an exceptional design and truly avant-garde technology. The result is the original and ultra-exclusive WX-1, which asserts itself as a spectacular incarnation of the watchmaking art, stemming directly from the concept lab of the House of DeWitt. This exceptional futuristic creation undeniably evokes the most cutting-edge industries.
Carrying references to planes, cars, speedboats and contemporary art, the overall architecture of this model makes it a totally modern and truly multicultural object. The daring formal design features are matched by an exceptional and indeed world-first mechanical construction that completely dissociates the displays from the mechanism driving them. WX-1 was intended to make a difference and to establish a new benchmark in watchmaking. Mission accomplished.

Icon of several contemporary worlds

An authentic machine representing several contemporary worlds, the pulsating heart of the WX-1 is equipped with a vertical flying tourbillon with a carriage performing one revolution per minute and visible through a cylindrical “chimney” located on the back of the case. The mechanical hand-wound movement comprises a parallel going train with five barrels ensuring a 21-day (approximately 504-hour) power reserve. The parts making up this “competitive racing” engine – barrels, gear train, tourbillon carriage, power-reserve indicator and winding device – are all arranged in vertical order.
The power reserve is displayed by a coaxial roller, while the time of day is read off on two rotating discs. The first, showing the minutes, turns in a clockwise direction, while the one displaying the hours turns counter-clockwise by means of a clever gear system mounted on six runners.
DeWitt Concept Watch 34 WX136M1100
Very much a machine of future time, WX-1 beats to the cadence of a revolutionary mechanism featuring an unprecedented construction. Contrary to standard practice and indeed to everything introduced to date, the display of the information is disengaged from the movement driving mechanism.
The going train, playing the role of propeller shaft, passes on the time measuring indications to the hour and minute discs. This complex creation is a genuine first in the history of watch engineering. It can be viewed by sliding the “hood” or “bonnet” thereby revealing the entire mechanism – the display and the movement – housed beneath its transparent covering plate.

A technological thoroughbred

The performances of this technological thoroughbred also relate to the materials chosen for its construction, governed by the criteria of lightness and resistance. All the parts composing the supporting structure of the WX-1 movement – mainplate and bridges – are made from an aluminium-lithium alloy. The movement weighs no more than 27 grams in all.
This ultra high-tech material is currently widely used in the aeronautical industry, particularly due to its exceptional performances. The latter match those of the movement, thereby ensuring both the lightness and the reliability of a 16.04 mm thick construction composed of 458 parts.

A light case for a sophisticated object

Innovative in terms of both its shape and its dimensions, the case of the WX-1 asserts its powerful personality, echoing the sophisticated micromechanical feat of engineering inside. Composed of 370 parts, its highly complex construction testifies to an entirely novel approach.
Standing for much more than any straightforward conventional case, this sophisticated object comprises a large number of model components, a winding device as well as particularly elaborate sliding systems.
This high-tech architectural construction combines grade 5 titanium and eloxed aluminium, both materials known for their extreme qualities and together weighing just 191 grams! One would normally expect a case of this stature to weigh around 600 grams.

A construction incorporating a set of sophisticated systems

This exceptional timepiece is equipped with two systems on the front and back of the case. The crown traditionally located on the front of the dial serves its standard time-setting function when pulled out to the first notch.
On the back of the case, very much like jet engines, sit two cylindrical “chimneys”: one offers an original view of the tourbillon regulator at work, while the other houses the winding system of the WX-1. This device, which can be extracted from its recess by activating a bolt placed between the two cylindrical openings, serves to wind the watch.
An electronically-driven tool specially developed for this object serves to wind the five barrels in a few dozen seconds. This extremely sophisticated high-tech instrument has a 90-minute running time when fully charged. Rotating at 60 revs per minute and featuring a torque of 10 Newton/millimeter, it is powered by a lithium battery and enables the user to wind the five WX-1 barrels in just a few seconds, by means of a vertical switch. It can be recharged by a wall charger or by the USB socket on the back of the tool. The WX-1 can also be manually wound using a second tool supplied with the watch.
WX-1, an authentic avant-garde creation and a unique elitist object, is a subtle alchemist’s blend of the emblematic values of the House of DeWitt merging state-of-the-art technologies entirely in line with the enduring tradition of watchmaking innovation. WX-1, which will be issued in an extremely limited series, comes with a desk stand that accentuates its multidimensional and multifunctional status.

DeWitt's Golden Afternoon: A Watch Celebrating Women

dewitt golden afternoon watch
Now available in our King Jewelers Miami store!
In the mid-XIXth century Victorian England, a group of English painters, poets and critics, known as the Pre-Raphaelites, formed a brotherhood celebrating woman, romanticism and symbolic nature. Dissatisfied with what was taught and exhibited at the Royal Academy, they wanted to return to a more direct and honest artistic expression, with abundant details, intense colours and complex compositions.
Dante Gabriel RossettiDante Gabriel Rossetti was one of the driving forces behind this circle of artists and wished to reinforce the links between romantic poetry and art. Rossetti’s emphasis was on brilliance of colour and the women he portrayed often symbolized the creative power of Nature. ‘The Daydream’ (1880) is a celebration of controlled female sensuality, blending feminine beauty and mystery. The woman is not a passive beauty, but a powerful beauty, full of intensity.
Another artist that was greatly influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites was Julia Margaret Cameron, rightly recognized as one of the most influential figures from the early days of portrait photography and that became known for her portraits of celebrities of the time. In her photography, Cameron strove to capture beauty and had the amazing gift of always ‘arresting’ the personalities of her subjects, achieving to depict their emotional state in her photos.
She rapidly developed her unique style of photographic portraiture, slightly out of focus and deliberately gauzy, in order to emphasize the emotional dimension of her subjects in an often highly allegorical way. The gentle melancholy of her portraits is irresistible, and for many remains unsurpassed even to this day in the world of photography.
Julia Margaret Cameron
Her associations with artists from the Pre-Raphaelite school brought her to meet Charles Dodgson, another passionate photographer of the time and better known under the name of Lewis Carroll. Dodgson had often used Alice Liddell (the inspiration for his Alice stories) as a child portrait subject for his photographs. Later, Cameron also recognised in Alice the perfect Pre-Raphaelite model and used her in her photographic allegory of Alethea, the Greek goddess of truth.
Julia Margaret Cameron had a truly artistic approach to photography in which she followed her own instincts, freed from all Victorian rules and conventions.
Considered the first avant-garde movement in art, the Pre-Raphaelites and their beautiful celebration of Woman, Romanticism and Symbolic Nature have been the driving inspiration behind the creation of the DeWitt Golden Afternoon collection.

All in the Golden Afternoon

With the Golden Afternoon collection, DeWitt has tried to poetically and artistically retrace the different stages in the life of a woman and her changing perceptions of the world around her. With great lightness and a touch of fantasy, the Golden Afternoon collection offers a set of mirrors to the minds and hearts of women.
What better example than the tale of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to illustrate a woman’s attempt to decipher the world around her? Once decoded this most brilliant example of literary nonsense, we find ourselves facing a thoroughly contemporary girl, fighting to re-establish her own identity and aspiring towards complete feminine autonomy. A beautiful story of the long and sinuous journey from innocent childhood to wisdom and adulthood.
In his prefatory poem of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll recalls the afternoon during which he took a boat trip from Oxford to Godstow and improvised the Alice in Wonderland story to entertain the three Liddell sisters, Lorina, Alice and Edith. The first verse reads:

All in the golden afternoon
Full leisurely we glide;
For both our oars, with little skill,
By little arms are plied,
While little hands make vain pretence
Our wanderings to guide.

Across the Threshold on the Gardenside

dewitt golden afternoon watch
The dial of the Golden Afternoon is a delicate mother of pearl garden with a gentle breeze blowing across its colourful beds of flowers. Of different dimensions and tonalities, the flowers pour out of the centre and are dispatched poetically across the dial. In the background, a mother of pearl sky with discrete puffy clouds mingles with a dozen water lily diamonds to form a painting in which reflection is reality. The slightly “out of focus” effect reminds us of Julia Margaret Cameron’s photographic style, exceptionally powerful and evocative.
The hours and minutes hands are refined little sculptures of angel wings, whereas the seconds hand, thin and elegant, is topped with a little flame. On the lower left part of the dial, a small DeWitt logo gently floats across the sky.
The Golden Afternoon is a purely feminine 39 mm timepiece housing an automatic calibre with 42 hours power reserve. A classical feature of most DeWitt watches, the imperial columns were redesigned for the Golden Afternoon collection and illustrate feminine finesse. They can also be seen as twelve little doors opening up onto a beautiful garden, just as the many doors that Alice faced down in the Rabbit hole. As for the crown, it was also redesigned into softer shapes and is decorated with a blue sapphire or a ruby cabochon. A golden pin buckle, polished and with a fine engraving of the DeWitt logo provides additional finesse to the finishing.

Elite Traveler's Recommendations for the Connoisseur of Haute Horologerie

jerome dewittStill relatively young, the DeWitt manufacture was founded in 2003 by Jerome DeWitt, who wanted to create a brand that reflected his vision of watches with complications following the traditional Swiss rules of watchmaking. Success and recognition came quickly when in 2005, the manufacture won the first prize for innovation at the Grand Prix de l’horlogerie in Geneva for his patented differential system on his Academia Tourbillon. Where the brand truly excelled is when it comes to pushing the boundaries of traditional watchmaking. This was particularly striking when the WX-1 Concept was launched in 2007, a project that one could call ground-breaking, featuring a vertical flying tourbillon and five barrels, giving the watch an amazing 21-day power reserve ability. The unique case construction using avant-guardiste materials such as aluminium-lithium, grade 5 titanium, gold, steel among others ensured it was relatively lightweight (191 grams) but also contributed to its “steampunk” industrial look.
Where DeWitt really pushed its creativity was with its collaboration with the Only Watch project, creating complete new concepts from beginning to end ensuring ultimate exclusivity. On their last project in 2011, DeWitt created an all-new watch, named Concept Watch No. 3 (shown on cover), a tourbillon with double bi-retrograde hours and minutes that featured a unique X shaped-case that allowed the entire watch to be easily rotated to display the reverse with a simple flick. The watch generated a lot of buzz among the DeWitt collectors and ended up selling for an incredible 410,000 euros.
Innovative, unusual, DeWitt creations are sure to inspire fascination and present the opportunity for watch aficionados to discover a brand that will give them the unique and different look they are seeking.

Twenty-8-Eight Automatic – Sunshine On Your Wrist

Twenty-8-Eight Automatic
The Twenty-8-Eight Automatic is a lively and sunny timepiece, remarkably refined and sober. The face of the watch is artistically divided in two different guilloché zones. In the centre, a light flame pattern provides incredible life to the dial as the slightest wrist movement will animate the flames in graceful reflections. The second pattern, at the perimeter, takes the form of a regular and reassuring sunray that structures the whole design. Flames and sunrays are separated by a fine circle applique that gives a final touch of shiny elegance and echoes the thin and polished columns on the bezel.
Time has never been more readable as large Roman numerals are positioned on the four cardinal points and discretely interconnected by small Arabic numerals positioned at five minutes intervals. The warm and welcoming chocolate-brown iteration reflects the classic ambience of many pieces in the DeWitt museum.

Twenty-8-Eight Regulator A.S.W. Horizons

TWENTY-8-EIGHT - REGULATOR A.S.W. HORIZONS
The Twenty-8-Eight Regulator A.S.W. Horizons Automatic Tourbillon invites all watch lovers to a journey through the sky, travelling across their favourite horizon and taking an aerial view of their favourite city, their favourite constructions with a tribute to sleek Art Déco design, and in particular to the post Great Depression trends explored in America. The Twenty-8-Eight Regulator A.S.W. Horizons is truly an illustration in creativity with its peripheral bi-directional oscillating rotor, dead beat second connected to the tourbillon and its ingenious automatic winding system than maintains an optimal range of 92 to 96 percent wind.

Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon – 100% Manufacture

TWENTY-8-EIGHT TOURBILLON
With the Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon, DeWitt took a major step forward as the calibre DW8028 was its first entirely home-made Tourbillon movement. This landmark in the history of the brand showcases yet again the depth of its know-how and its autonomy.
The DeWitt calibre DW8028 is a manually wound movement integrating a solid and reliable Tourbillon mechanism. Its construction is rather classical, using age-old and recognized technical parameters as a basis: 18,000 A/h, 72 hours power reserve. The movement is equipped with a Swiss anchor escapement with a variable-inertia balance and a spiral with a Breguet curve sequenced at 2.5 Hz. The balance, as well as the escape wheel and the anchor are made of 18 carat yellow gold.
The Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon fully complies with the very demanding finishing norms of the DeWitt Manufacture. Entirely hand-made, the finishing is of a rare quality and can be observed through the sapphire crystal back.

Academia – Tourbillon Differentiel

ACADEMIA—TOURBILLION DIFFERENTIEL
A colourful, whirling tourbillon of precious metals, platinum and gold adorn a major innovation that has already made watchmaking history. Patented in 2005, Dewitt’s Tourbillon Différentiel mechanism represents a significant breakthrough with respect to the basic working principles of a mechanical movement. Traditionally housed in a case of rose gold, the Tourbillon Différentiel is clothed in 950 platinum, 18-carat rose gold and a blend of 18-carat rose and white gold.
The Tourbillon Différentiel makes history with its ingenious patented power-reserve winding system in a tourbillon-equipped watch. While regulating complications correct a mechanical watch’s precision by compensating for the effects of Earth’s gravity, the differential system developed by DeWitt increases watch-winding speed considerably (by two-thirds in fact). DeWitt’s system drastically simplifies the construction of conventional planetary gears.

Academia – Double Fuseau GMT2 Poetic

ACADEMIA—DOUBLE FUSEAU GMT2 POETIC
A recognized pioneer in the pursuit of extremes, DeWitt once again asserts its avant-garde approach to the field of fine watchmaking with this member of the iconic Academia family. The neoclassical-inspired Academia Double Fuseau GMT2 Poetic highlights artistic crafts by demonstrating the brand’s mastery of the noblest of Swiss watchmaking traditions.
Daring combinations of materials and colours are the unmistakable signature touch of the DeWitt master-watchmakers. The Academia Double Fuseau GMT2 Poetic revisits the flagship Academia collection with considerable creativity. Framed by the famous DeWitt imperial columns, its 43mm dial is graced by a globe motif made from “Goldfluss,” an extremely rare synthetic “gold-glass” crystal featuring gold and silver-coloured “teardrop” inclusions. This exquisitely delicate design encapsulates the full measure of horological excellence cultivated by DeWitt.

Academia – Tourbillon Constante a Chaine

ACADEMIA — TOURBILLON CONSTANTE À CHAÎNE
The Tourbillon Force Constante à Chaîne most definitely belongs to the exclusive circle of highly complicated masterpieces. Combining 18-carat white gold with DeWitt’s emblematic black face, this creation releases appealing technical ambiance; the perfect atmosphere to peacefully observe the mechanical wonders of this work of art. When it was launched in 2006, the Tourbillon Force Constante represented a landmark development in watchmaking history, providing the answer to a question as old as the mechanical movement itself: DeWitt’s solution involves inserting an additional mechanism into a traditional mechanical movement in order to exchange variable or even irregular motive power, for another option: perfectly constant force. In other words, the device is designed to transmit identical and regular impulses, regardless of the tautness of the barrel-spring.

WX-1 – Far More Than A Watch

dewitt wx-1 watch
The first watch concept by DeWitt submitted to the OnlyWatch auction serves as a contemporary objet d’art and lends a whole new dimension to the watchmaking world. This exceptional creation embodies a range of cultural values merging design, futurism, sophisticated construction of its various elements, and an original interpretation of time read-off. Time and creation, mental architecture and spatial construction all unite in a unique vision of tomorrow. This pure multidimensional concept of presenting the time offers an entirely new vision of watchmaking.
The original concept was quite simple: Create a watch that was different from and, indeed, far more than a watch. How could one best marry authentic technological innovations and advanced aesthetics? Everything about WX-1 confirms that this daring bid has been successful in terms of both form and content.

Baselworld 2012 Spotlight: DeWitt Twenty-8-Eight Skeleton Watch

dewitt twenty 8 eight skeleton watch
What’s not to love about skeleton watches? They show off all the intricacies of a watch movement and are still beautiful to look at. That’s why today’s Baselworld feature is showing off the latest release from DeWitt, the Twenty-8-Eight Skeleton watch. This exquisite watch design shows off what DeWitt is known for, the first 100 percent manufacture movement through a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The movement is a DW8028 Calibre hand-winding movement with an integrated tourbillon complication. With a movement as intricate as this, it’s no wonder that DeWitt opted to show it off with a skeletonized dial.
Several elements of the skeleton dial design hark back to an Art Deco influence, including the barrel at the 12 o’clock position (inspired by vintage steering wheels) and the bridges across the tourbillon in the 6 o’clock position. This geometric Art Deco theme is also carried to the baguette diamonds set in the 18 karat white gold version of this watch. The 36 baguette diamonds are only set in the white gold version of the Twenty-8-Eight Tourbillon Skeleton watch. The flange in this version is also set with eight round-cut white diamonds and the engraved DeWitt “W” signature that help server as hour markers. The rose gold version of this watch only has the engraved “W” signature.
This watch stays true to the entire philosophy of DeWitt, which is an adherence to classical watchmaking with a modern flair in design. It’s pieces like this that sum up where DeWitt watches have come from and exactly where they’re going to go.

DeWitt Watches Presents the "How Audacious are You?" Test

dewitt-audacity-test
Would you consider buying a hovercraft for a new car? Are you afflicted by thaasophobia (fear of being bored)? Then you just might be the type of person that DeWitt watches is looking for. These are some of the questions asked by the brand through their “How Audacious are You?” test run through Facebook. The test goes through a series of ten questions and by the end of it, you post the results on Facebook to learn your score and ranking. The most audacious person will receive an exclusive DeWitt leather travel bag.
Take the Test Now.
The DeWitt watch brand has only been in existence for about ten years, but already they are known for their “classical audacity.” DeWitt prides themselves on their strict adherence to Swiss ancestral watch-making traditions such as the complicated art of guilloche, a type of engraved pattern on the watch dial using historical 18th and 19th century machinery. DeWitt watches combine this tribute to the historical with a modern flair and a boldness to innovate and explore.
DeWitt also recently developed a tongue-in-cheek campaign to better illustrate their unique combination of historical tribute and innovation. The ads feature classic paintings by masters such as Hans Holbein and Anthony van Dyck with the addition of contemporary and often humorous flair.

Frequently Asked Questions About DeWitt Watches

1.) Who is Mr. de Witt?
dewitt academia tourbillon force constante a chaine watchMr. Jérôme de Witt is a passionate person and an entrepreneur. He admires all objects crafted by men. His vision of luxury is that an item gets nicer with time. Mr de Witt is someone who could take people together and make them create something. Same idea with objects, for instance, when he created the Constant Force with bicycle chains, he took things out of their context and added them into the watch industry.
2.) Why would he undertake production of a line of watches with this degree of complication?
Mr. de Witt likes challenges and for him, nothing is impossible! Since the very beginning, only 7 years ago, DeWitt immediately distinguished itself by adopting its own, unique approach to building watches and movements. The brand is committed to perpetuate ancestral watchmaking traditions, as it is currently one of the only remaining brands to continue exercising the refined art of guilloché engraving on historical 18th and 19th century rose engines. On the other hand, DeWitt is obviously also equipped with ultra-modern machinery and the latest technologies in order to explore micromechanical solutions to practically any technical challenges.
3.) Does DeWitt make their own watches?
Yes, we do – Mr. de Witt sums up the “raison d’être” of his manufacture by accentuating one key concept: freedom, the guiding light of the company’s progress, and creativity since its foundation in 2003. He said : “I can see a kind of freedom in integrating the entire process. We can make our own decisions on a daily basis, and if necessary there is nothing to stop us changing direction.” This powerful driving force has distinguished our young company’s development with several major innovations that will leave it’s mark in watchmaking history.
4.) What makes the watches so unique? Why would someone purchase a DeWitt watch over another top brand such as Breguet or Patek?
Our brand identity is directly inspired by Mr. de Witt himself, whose perception of contemporary watchmaking is daringly different and unconventional.
We are an audacious brand and audacity simply means being effortlessly bold, brave and innovative, yet never arrogant or aloof. The subtlety lies in the fact that DeWitt is not trying to be audacious, it is simply in its DNA, in the way the company breathes and works every day.
5.) What is the vision the company has for the future? What type of watches will you continue to make?
We have plenty of new projects – especially with our movements. Our aim is to master that technology. DeWitt is all about craftsmanship. With no assembly chain, each watchmaker has to build a watch from A to Z. With three patents over the last five years, the latest of which unveiled at BaselWorld 2010, DeWitt is in the ranks of the most avant-garde and elitist companies in terms of their conceptual and creative approach. We would like to keep this innovative approach focus on quality and on the attention to every detail.

6.) How many watchmakers do you have? How long would it take one of them to make the Antipode watch, for example?
We have 35 watchmakers dispatched in two different workshops: the first one, named “Petite Complication”, goes from the Second Retrograde to the Perpetual Calendar and the second one, the “Grande Complication”, from the Minute Repeater to the Antipode. It takes approximately 1 1/2 months to produce an Antipode
7.) Will you ever make all of your own movements in house?
We launched during BaselWorld 2010 our new calibre, the DW 8014, which is the first complicated regulator movement integrating a Tourbillon entirely developed and produced in-house. We also introduced a patented and extremely ingenious Automatic Sequential Winding (A.S.W.) device, driven by a peripheral oscillating rotor. Our aim is to pursue our strategy and to become 100% independent.
8.) How do DeWitt watches hold their value at auction, or in the secondary market?
From the initial studies we have done amongst others on several internet forums and blogs, DeWitt watches hold their values well above average. This is a strategic topic for the brand and we are working on several projects to guarantee a high value for our timepiece on the secondary market.
9.) What is your growth strategy for Montres DeWitt – both in terms of the industry and geographically?

We have plenty of new projects – especially with our movements. Our aim is to master that technology. Indeed, as an example, we will launch the TWENTY-8-EIGHT REGULATOR A.S.W at the end of the year. The combination of the Twenty-8-Eight case with an Art Déco design dial is home to the already famous calibre DW 8014, that was a sensation when first revealed at Baselworld 2010. This new automatic Tourbillon is the second complicated movement integrating a Tourbillon entirely developed and produced by the DeWitt Manufacture.
Although the markets remain very challenging for a small brand like ours, we have achieved great strides in 2010, with the opening of not less than 6 Dewitt Boutiques or shop-in-shop in Asia, and the complete re-deployment of the North American market. We will continue our expansion step-by-step in 2011 onwards, not only in by pursuing to build up our main markets that are Asia and the US, but also to strengthen our position in areas like Central Asia, South America or India.
10.) What are your main priorities at DeWitt?
We would like to keep this particular “DeWitt personality” made of passion, dedication and curiosity that each person working for the brand has adopted. We will focus strongly on Research & Development, give the utmost respect of quality and make sure to surprise you with audacious designs.

DeWitt presents the “Dame de Pressy” to HM The Queen

At last month’s Queen’s Cup at Windsor Great Park, DeWitt participated as “Official Timekeeper” for its first major event of the Guards Polo Club, which also included a special presentation by Jérôme de Witt to HM The Queen – a special commemorative “Dame de Pressy” timepiece.
After the prize giving ceremony, HM The Queen was greeted by Mr. de Witt in front of the Royal Box and presented with a commemorative DeWitt watch, specifically designed for the occasion: a dazzling Dame de Pressy, fully set with diamonds and with a pink alligator strap, changed at the last moment to match the color of the flower on her hat.
The Queen receives <a href=The Dame de Pressy was presented to her in an elegant white box with a selection of 6 additional color straps in a bottom discrete drawer. Mr de Witt showed HM The Queen the miniature logo of the Guards Polo Club, meticulously hand-reproduced on the sapphire crystal back of the watch. The “Queen’s Cup 1960-2010“ Dame de Pressy will be produced in a limited edition of only 50 pieces.
The second timepiece, specifically designed by DeWitt for the 50th anniversary of the Queen’s Cup, is a gentleman’s Tourbillon watch, inspired from the new Twenty-8-Eight model. The Guards Polo Club logo is this time reproduced on a small “applique” plate positioned on the dial. The reproduction of the logo on such a scale (8 mm) is literally a small work of art, requiring up to a week to apply the 12 different layers of color, each one to be treated separately with a special coating.
DeWitt timepieces are available at King Jewelers in Nashville, TN and Aventura, FL. For additional information, please visit DeWitt.ch/”>http://www.DeWitt.ch and http://www.kings1912.com
