King Jewelers hosts benefit for the Holocaust Documentation & Education Center and Museum Over $30,000 raised for the new Hollywood Museum

King Jewelers created an evening of magic by bringing beautiful jewelry, amazing food and South Florida’s elite together to raise money for a worthy cause.
On Thursday, March 23rd, Scott, Maxine, David and Jonathan King celebrated “A Legacy of Remembrance” and raised over $30,000 for the Holocaust Documentation & Education Center and Museum. The King Family was joined by Mel Dick of Southern Wine & Spirits, Harry A. “Hap” Levy, President of the Board of Directors, and Rositta E. Kenigsberg, Executive Vice-President of the Holocaust Documentation and Education Center to raise funds and awareness for the new Holocaust Museum that is opening on Harrison Street in Hollywood. Judith Ripka, Grapevine Gourmet Cuisine of Plantation, Southern Wine & Spirits and City & Shore Magazine also contributed by generously co-sponsoring the evening.
The night’s festivities kicked off with a passionate speech by Rita Hofrichter, a Holocaust Survivor who was one of five surviving members of her family of 150. The live auction featured an amazing $22,500 Jaquet Droz GMT timepiece; a beautiful “Catherine” necklace by designer Judith Ripka; trip to anywhere in the world at anytime on any airline; trip to Washington DC to the National Holocaust Museum; set of Mizzuno golf clubs and two golf memberships to Inverrary Golf Club; autographed boxing gloves by the 25 greatest boxing champions of all time; as well as spectacular fine jewelry donated by King Jewelers.
The silent auction had something for everyone including fabulous jewelry from Roberto Coin, John Hardy and Fabrikant as well as fine timepieces from Bedat & Co. and Philip Stein; weekend getaway packages to the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa, Sagamore Hotel, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino as well as roundtrip tickets for two on JetBlue; dinner packages from the Forge and China Grill; sports memorabilia from Andy Roddick, Udonis Haslem of the Miami Heat, the Florida Marlins and Miami Dolphins; swimming with the dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium; and spa packages from Turnberry Spa & Resort, Iluma Center for Health, and the Porto Vita Spa. Artist Romero Britto also donated a piece to raise money for this worthy cause.
“We are thrilled to be able to support such a wonderful organization like the Holocaust Documentation & Education Center and Museum and bring attention to such a worthy cause,” said Maxine King. “It’s important that we show the world that we will never forget.”
