American Idol Kelly Clarkson Announces Engagement to Brandon Blackstock

Have you heard? Nashvillian, Kelly Clarkson is engaged! On Saturday the 30 year old American Idol successor announced on twitter, “I’M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y’all to know!!” Clarkson wrote. “Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever :)”

Her boyfriend of almost one year and now fiance is Brandon Blackstock. He is the son of Kelly’s longtime manager, Narvel Blackstock. Brandon is also a talent manager for Blake Shelton and just so happens to also be the stepson of country star Reba McEntire. Seems like the two had a hunch since the beginning of their romance. Kelly said, “We were just in a room together, and then he came up and said he was from the same hometown as me and I was like, ‘oh we’re so getting married’–I was so that girl.”

Seems like she was right! This Texas born star has been having a few phenomenal years since her debut in 2002. She is one of the most successful winners of American Idol with her album “Stronger” hitting as high as the number 2 spot on the Billboard 200 sales chart. She has also topped the charts of the pop category with her songs “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “A Moment Like This.”

Kelly released the photo of her engagement ring in another tweet shortly after announcing the news. The ring was designed by Brandon with Johnathon Arndt and features a bright canary diamond with white diamonds surrounding it. There seems to be some milgrain detailing and more diamonds on the shank. Truly a beautiful piece.
