On Thursday, April 24th, Scott, Maxine, and Jonathan King celebrated “A Legacy of Remembrance” and raised over $100,000 for the First South Florida Holocaust Museum, Documentation & Education Center.
The King Family was joined by the Honorable Rositta E. Kenigsberg, President of the First South Florida Holocaust Museum, Documentation & Education Center, and Mr. Mel Dick, member-Board of Directors of the Museum. Chopard, manufacturer of fine jewelry & timepieces, also contributed by generously co-sponsoring the evening to raise funds and awareness for the new Holocaust Museum that will be opening in South Florida.
The night’s festivities kicked off with a passionate speech by the Honorable Rositta E. Kenigsberg, and Maxine King, of King Jewelers.
“We are so grateful to Maxine and Scott King and the entire King Jeweler’s Family for their tremendous efforts and incredible commitment to help build South Florida’s First Holocaust Museum. The fabulous kickoff event, which they so graciously and generously hosted last evening, gave hope and promise to all the Survivors of the Holocaust who attended. The Survivor’s dream, that one day, a Museum would be built in South Florida, to ensure that their horrific past would never become our children’s and grandchildren’s future; became more than a possibility – it became a reality.”
Additional custom-made charms are available for various donation amounts. A web page will be set-up for purchase and donation of the bracelets with proceeds going directly to the Museum Capital Building Fund.
The live auction featured an elegant & timeless $54,930 Chopard Carissima watch set in 18KT White Gold and 3.36 CTS Diamonds; Miami Heat VIP Suite Playoff ticket experience for 2 donated by the Miami Herald Media Companies, personal items from Mel Dick’s private collection, a custom-made portrait of the winning bidder by the world-famous artist, Peter Max, a Montblanc Heritage Collection Fountain Pen 1912 gold nip, a limited edition Stature of Liberty Lithograph, as well as spectacular fine jewelry donated by King Jewelers.
“We are thrilled to be able to support such a wonderful organization like the First South Florida Holocaust Museum, Documentation & Education Center and bring attention to such a worthy cause,” said Maxine King. “It’s important that we show the world that we will never forget.”
