Jaquet Droz to Unveil the 2015 Only Watch Petite Heure Minute Paillonnée in September

Only Watch, a charity founded by the Monaco Association against Muscular Dystrophy and its President, Luc Pettavino, is a particularly unique organization. Only Watch calls on elite watch brands from around the globe to create unique pieces to be sent to auction. Proceeds from the watch sales benefit Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Jaquet Droz has been a long-time partner to the Only Watch charity. This year, Jaquet Droz has delivered a remarkable timepiece that’s both mechanically sound and visually stunning: The Petite Heure Minute Pailonnée.

Paillonné enameling is a technique dating back to the Renaissance which involves using raised gold leaf motif in conjunction with enameling to obtain a sunray effect. Jaquet Droz has put a twist on this time-tested method, however, by using it for the first time on a 43mm 18K yellow gold Petite Heure Minute. The watch, an iconic model by the brand, features a dark red Grand Feu enamel dial. The rich color is especially hard to create and serves as a nod to the flag of Monaco.

As we said before, however, this timepiece is more than just a pretty face. The movement features only the best materials, making the watch resistant to shock, temperature and pressure changes, and magnetic fields. This also marks the first time Jaquet Droz has used silicon in a Petite Heure Minute. The sapphire crystal caseback allows you to see straight into the heart of this magnificent timepiece. It features special engraving which says “Unique Piece Only Watch 2015”

The Petite Heure Minute Pallonnée will be officially introduced to the world at the Monaco Yacht Show from September 23rd-26th. It’s only fitting, given the origins of the Only Watch charity that the watch debuts in Monaco. After the 26th, will tour across three continents before being auctioned in Geneva, Switzerland on November 17th.
