SIHH 2013 Preview: Roger Dubuis Excalibur Table Ronde Watch

To be unveiled during the 2013 SIHH, limited edition Excalibur Table Ronde watch from Roger Dubuis is certain to make an impression. Inspired by what is likely the most well-known literary tale of today, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. This legendary timepiece features 12 highly detailed knights that are slightly different from each other and made of 18k rose gold with swords as hour markers. The knights are placed neatly around an enamel dial that also features a hand painted replica of the Winchester Round Table that hangs in Winchester, England.

The original table was created in 1552 and was made to impress the Emperor Charles V during his visit. Although the table is not the actual image of the Winchester Round Table, Roger Dubuis does replicate a very nice representation that even includes old English written names of the knights as well as the Tudor rose in the center.

Inside this magnificent case houses an automatic mechanical RD822 movement. It is also paired nicely with a black crocodile leather strap. Roger Dubuis is expected to release only 88 pieces.
