Hublot has been called upon to help commemorate the 50 years of the marvelous Ferrari 250 GTO and its historic gathering of the 24 owners and their vehicles in one place for the first time. This 45mm fusion tourbillon skeleton was designed with every aspect of the 250 GTO in mind. The barrel drum at 12 o’clock derived its shape from the wheels of the 250 GTO and the featured brown calf strap reflects the Ferrari Barenia leather upholstery of the 1960s. Each watch is also engraved with the chasis number of each individual owner’s 250 GTO, pairing each specific car with a specific watch.
The production of this watch is limited to the total global production of the 250 GTO which is a total count of 39. What makes this watch so rare and special? Unlike any of Hublot’s previous Ferrari timepieces, you must be an owner of a 250 GTO in order to purchase this model.
Do you think you’re ready to purchase your own set of the 250 GTO and matching watch? Just keep in mind that 50 years ago a new 250 GTO called for a purchase price of $18,000 along with the personal approval by Enzo Ferrari and his dealer for North America, Luigi Chinetti. Within the last few months Sir Stirling Moss sold his green Ferrari 250 GTO for $35 million, which made it the most expensive car in history.
So in the meantime until you’re ready to purchase one of those incredibly rare 250 GTO to own this limited edition watch, view our collection of Hublot timepieces that maybe a little easier for you to obtain.
