March Birthstone: Beautiful Blue Aquamarine

New month, new birthstone to celebrate! It’s March 1st, which means it’s officially time to celebrate aquamarine!
If you were born in March, your birthstone is Aquamarine, a gorgeous light blue colored gemstone. Historically, aquamarine has been believed to protect sailors from harm and also make marriages happier. It is mined from the mountains of Pakistan at extremely high altitudes. Ranging in color from barely-there-blue to deep ocean blue, this gemstone is a beautiful addition to any woman’s jewelry collection, whether it’s her birthstone or not.
At King Jewelers, we have a wide variety of earrings, bracelets, pendants, and more set with aquamarines. We’ve chosen our two favorite aquamarine jewelry pieces to share with you today.

January Birthstone Spotlight: Garnet

Garnet’s name originates with the Latin words granatum malum, which means pomegranate. The deep burnt red color of this stone is said to be comparable to that of pomegranate seeds, although garnets come in a variety of other colors such as bright oranges and soft yellows. The garnet is often associated with divided love and safe returns as in Greek mythology, Hades gave Persephone pomegranate seeds to ensure her return to him.
In this month of returning travelers, King Jewelers features a Garnet Cabochon from Marco Bicego’s Confetti Gemme Collection. This ring is made of hand-engraved 18 carat yellow gold and is set with a “tumble cut” cabochon garnet gemstone.
