On Wednesday, July 10th, King Jewelers hosted their “Taste of Luxury” event which provided an exclusive wine tasting event for the residence of the Mansions at Acqualina in Miami, Florida. This remarkable evening featured a close-up look at some of the most innovative Harry Winston watches, such as the Opus 14 Limited Edition and the Historie de Tourbillon 8 Limited Edition timepiece.

The Rainbow Watches Trend for Summer 2019

Summer is a time to embrace all things colorful. That’s why King Jewelers wants to share some of the top trending timepieces that feature fashionable rainbow designs. A rectangular white gold case houses 28 round-cut diamonds, framing the celestial diamond-embellished dial. Harry Winston Debuts New Avenue Classic Cherry Blossom Timepiece, Inspired by the Beauty of the Japanese Cherry Blossom, Ahead of Baselworld 2017

Harry Winston has set our hearts aflutter with their latest creation inspired by the natural beauty of the Japanese cherry blossom: the Avenue Classic Cherry Blossom.
The blooming of the sakura cherry blossom tree is a cherished cultural event in Japan. Every year, people gather at the base of cherry trees to hold hanami, or a flower-viewing festivals, when the beloved pink and white flowers bloom. The brief blooming of the cherry blossom flowers represent the coming of spring, or new beginnings, and also serve as a reminder of the short but precious time we each have on this earth.

The brand expertly utilizes the natural iridescence of the pale green-blue mother-of-pearl dial to emulate soft clouds gently blowing across the sky. The focal point of the dial, however, are the 39 brilliant-cut white diamonds and 29 brilliant-cut pink sapphires, all of varying size, which are scattered across the dial along white gold “branches” and call to mind the tranquil beauty of the Japanese cherry blossom.

The case of the Avenue Classic Cherry Blossom was inspired by Harry Winston’s flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York. The art-deco styling serves as a stark, and yet also complementary, contrast to the more traditional influence of the dial. Tying it all together is a vibrant blue-green alligator strap which emphasizes the beautiful mother-of-pearl dial. This timepiece, which represents both an enchanting work of art and an exhibition of the excellent watchmaking which Harry Winston has become known for, leaves us anxious and excited to see what they’ll unveil at Baselworld 2017.

Stunning 10+ Carat Diamond Engagement Ring by Harry Winston Arrives in Nashville

Boy do we have a treat for you today! Our Nashville store just received a gorgeous new engagement ring that we knew we just had to share with you ASAP.
Harry Winston has long been regarded as a leading name in the diamond world. Even Marilyn Monroe’s classic song “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” references him by name: “Talk to me Harry Winston, tell me all about it!”
This platinum engagement ring features a GIA certified F/VS1 emerald cut diamond center stone. At 9.02ct, this diamond is jaw-dropping all on its own, but Harry Winston didn’t stop there. Flanking the center stone are two tapered baguettes, one on each side of the center diamond, which each weigh in at a respectable 0.50ct.
With a total diamond weight of 10.02ct, this engagement ring makes a bold statement. If you’re shy, or prefer your jewelry to be understated, this ring is definitely not a good fit for you. Even if this ring is a little too much for you, it’s hard not to appreciate the beautiful scintillation, or sparkle, which radiates from these diamonds every time you move.

Harry Winston Midnight Diamond Stalactites

Featured Watch of the Day: Harry Winston’s Midnight Diamond Stalactites

Talk to me, Harry Winston, tell me all about it! Today’s featured timepiece is a new one from Harry Winston: the Midnight Diamond Stalactites Automatic. This 36mm ladies timepiece is available in two variations; it is available in white gold on a white satin strap, and in rose gold on a taupe alligator leather strap.

Stalactites are found growing from cave ceilings and are formed over the course of thousands of years as dripping water rich in minerals calcifies. In the image above, stalactites can be seen growing down from the cave ceiling, while stalagmites can be seen growing up from the cave floor.
The Midnight Diamond Stalactites timepieces each feature designs resembling these marvels of nature on the dials. The stalactites on the white gold version (Reference # MIDAHM36WW001) are made of 0.46ct of pink sapphires and 0.17ct of rubies set on a beaded mother-of-pearl dial. The stalactites on the rose gold version (Reference # MIDAHM36RR001) are made of brilliant-cut diamonds set on a Tahitian mother-of-pearl dial.

Each of the Midnight Diamond Stalactites timepieces are equipped with the Harry Winston automatic HW2008 caliber movement which has 28 jewels and 28,800 vibrations per hour. Both versions of this timepiece feature a diamond bezel and diamond lugs, making them even more striking. They each are covered with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and come with an open sapphire crystal case back, so you can see the movement in action. Neither timepiece features a date display, so as not to detract from the gorgeous stalactites design. Both timepieces are water resistant to 3 bar, or approximately 30 meters.

Breguet Celebrates Over 200 Years of Tourbillon Innovation

More than 200 years after it was patented, the tourbillon complication is still impressive

This month, Swiss watchmaker Breguet celebrated 214 years since Abraham Louis Breguet first received the patent for the toubillon. Although the patent has long since dissolved, Breguet is still considered the leader in creating this most impressive complication.
The tourbillon, long regarded as the pinnacle of watchmaking, was originally an attempt to improve accuracy in pocket watches. Today, tourbilllons are symbol of status and make any watch face visually stimulating.

Tourbillon is French for “whirlwind” and the moniker is, at least to the naked eye, very accurate. A tourbillon is basically a balance wheel that rotates in one direction. The idea here is that by continuously moving it will counter the effects of gravity, and thus keep time more accurately. While modern advancements in watchmaking have revealed more cost effective and accurate means of improving a watch’s reliability, the tourbillon has endured as a worthy addition to any timepiece. Even if it is now mostly aesthetic, the tourbillon is still a beautiful and innovative complication.

The tourbillon complication is constantly being modified and improved upon by almost every major brand in the industry. Breguet’s current focus is on creating a tourbillon that is both extremely lightweight and durable. Zenith‘s latest creation, the Defy Xtreme Zero-G Tourbillon, features a free-moving tourbillon housing which always points down, regardless of what crazy position your wrist may be in. Harry Winston has revealed the newest member of the Histoire de Tourbillon family, the Histoire de Tourbillon 6, which features a prominent, fast-moving, triple-axis tourbillon along with a power reserve indicator and chronograph function. Both TAG Heuer and Raymond Weil have plans to release their own budget-friendly tourbillon-clad timepieces later this year.
All in all, more than 200 years after it was made, it’s clear this complication isn’t going anywhere. Regardless of it’s actual functionality, the tourbillon is both visually appealing and innovative; if nothing else, it is a great conversation piece for true watch aficionados.
