King Jewelers Nashville Receives Limited Edition Breitling Navitimer DC-3 Just in Time for Nashville Watch Fair!

King Jewelers Nashville is happy to announce the immediate availability of a very exciting limited edition timepiece! The Breitling Navitimer DC-3, a limited edition of just 500 pieces worldwide, is available now in our Green Hills salon!
With only 500 watches made worldwide, and less than 100 slated for availability in the US, this is a very rare and exciting timepiece available to Nashville area watch collectors.

The Navitimer DC-3 has an automatic movement contained within a 46mm stainless steel case. The black dial features silver subdials and is covered by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The case back is inscribed with “Breitling DC-3 World Tour 2017”. The brown leather strap has a tang buckle. This watch is water resistant to 3 bars.

Breitling has long been known for its passion for aviation and adventure. To further that passion, the brand sponsored the restoration of a DC-3 plane, one of just 150 that are still operational. Each of the 500 Navitimer DC-3 timepieces produced were placed aboard this Breitling DC-3 plane which then went on a tour of the world earlier this year. The watch comes with a flight log that has been signed by the plane’s pilot.

Collector’s Corner: Bell & Ross Reveals New BR-X1 Hyperstellar

Much to the delight of us all, Bell & Ross has unveiled a new BR-X1 chronograph, the BR-X1 Hyperstellar, which pays homage to man’s fascination with the beauty and mystery of outer space. This timepiece is a limited edition (only 250 will be released world-wide) so if you’re a Bell & Ross enthusiast and you’re lucky enough to find an authorized retailer that still has the BR-X1 Hyperstellar available, we’d suggest you jump on it!
The BR-X1 Hyperstellar has a BR-CAL.313 automatic mechanical movement contained within a 45mm titanium case with anodized blue aluminum and rubber inserts. The metal skeleton dial has luminescent indexes and hour and minute hands, while still allowing you to see right into the heart of the movement. Features include hour and minutes function, small seconds indicator at the 3 o’clock position, skeleton date window at the 6 o’clock position, and a chronograph function.

The chronograph features a 30-minute timer at the 9 o’clock position and central chronograph seconds. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is grey-tinted to match the overall cool tones of the timepiece. The caseback is also covered by tinted sapphire crystal which is centered on the balance. The strap is a combination of grey alligator leather and grey rubber with a steel and grey rubber pin buckle.

Bell & Ross Reveals Extremely Limited Edition Desert Type Timepiece

Bell & Ross is one of our favorite unique watch brands. The iconic square military-style timepieces have been favorites of celebrities like Tom Hanks and Hunter Hayes, and their popularity is only growing over time. King Jewelers Nashville is proud to have one of only 20 Desert Type timepieces available in North America.
The Desert Type is yet another military tribute from Bell & Ross- designed with the tan and brown cameo uniforms worn by soldiers stationed in desert climates. The watch has an automatic movement contained within a sizable square 42mm black PVD coated steel case. The PVD coating provides much needed contrast to the otherwise monochromatic timepiece.

The beige dial has luminescent appliqué Arabic numerals, indexes, and hands for easy visibility, even in darkness. The dial features a red stamp indicating the extremely limited availability of the timepiece between the 7 and 8 o’clock positions and a date display window between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions. It is covered with tinted, anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The tan distressed leather strap has a black PVD coated steel pin buckle. The watch is water resistant to an impressive 100m.

Louis Moinet Unveils Indy Inspired Scott Dixon Watch

Four-Time Indy Champion Scott Dixon Partners with Louis Moinet to Create Exclusive Timepiece

On August 30, 2015, Louis Moinet ambassador Scott Dixon won the IndyCar Grand Prix of Sonoma, CA auto race. The win makes him an impressive four-time winner of the Indy Championship. In honor of this feat, Louis Moinet has revealed a new, limited edition, Indy inspired timepiece from the Legends collection, aptly named “The Scott Dixon.”
The Scott Dixon is a two-pusher, automatic chronograph which has been specifically designed with racing drivers and motorsport enthusiasts in mind. The 45.6mm stainless steel case has a carbon-fibre lower bezel with a tachymeter scale to measure speed or distance. The lower half of the dial is decorated with Geneva wave finishing which calls to mind the iconic vertical grills of Indy racing vehicles. The checkered pattern on the ends of the pushers is reminiscent of the checkered flag that indicated Dixon’s 29 career Indy wins. The red and white accents that decorate this timepiece pay homage to the Target car that Scott Dixon has driven to victory so many times.

Rhodium-plated luminescent hands and highly reflective Arabic numerals allow for easy visibility, even in the dark. The timepiece features a chronograph function with three subdials. It is covered by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and has a transparent, tinted sapphire crystal caseback. The crystal caseback is engraved with the Indy 500 Winner’s wreath and the inscription “2008” to commemorate the year that Scott Dixon was the winner of this world-famous race. The watch is available either on a sporty black rubber strap, or on a classic black alligator leather strap. This timepiece is a limited edition; only 365 pieces will be manufactured and sold.

Keep Your Friends Close, Keep Your Jurassic-Era Dinosaur Bones Even Closer!

Dinosaur fever took the world by storm this year as the latest installment of the Jurassic Park franchise crushed all the box-office records in it’s path! Jurassic World has earned nearly $1.5 billion dollars globally, so it’s safe to say that the world is entranced by the idea of these extinct creatures. It makes sense that various brands would seize this opportunity before the public’s interest faded. Louis Moinet struck while the iron was hot, and we have to say, we never expected anything like this…
The eye-catching section of the Louis Moinet Jurassic Watch is the dial. Rightfully so, as it’s made from authentic fossilized dinosaur bone. Yes, you read that right- Louis Moinet is using genuine dinosaur bones to create this watch dial.

Luckily, the timepiece is limited to just 12 pieces, so they didn’t need to use an entire treasure trove of fossilized bones. The 150 million year-old bone used for the 12 dials was discovered in western North America. Moviegoers, don’t get too excited- this is no Indominus Rex bone! It’s believed to be from the Diplodocus, a 50-ton herbivore from the Jurassic Period. The bone was delicately cut to maintain it’s coloring and veining.
The 43.5mm 18K rose gold case shines against the black alligator leather strap. Features include a date display window at the 3 o’clock position and a seconds hand at the 9 o’clock position. It is covered by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Ateliers Louis Moinet CEO Jean-Marie Schaller warned us that this timepiece was more than just a pretty face, however. “Immediately on release, the Mecanograph won a prize in the International Chronometry Competition, enshrining our desire to achieve ultimate precision: a core value for our Ateliers, whose founder, Mr. Louis Moinet, not only invented the chronograph, but was also the pioneer of chronometry, measuring sixtieths of a second in 1816.”

Zenith Partners with The Rolling Stones Again on the Verge of the 2015 Zip Code Tour

On May 24th, President & CEO of Zenith, Aldo Magada, attended the first stage of the Rolling Stones “Zip Code” North American tour, in San Diego, CA. To celebrate their 150th anniversary, the watchmaking brand has just launched the El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Tribute to the Rolling Stones. This Limited Edition of 1000 timepieces will be dedicated to the British rock legends.

This tour is truly a case of “when the stars line up”

In fact, the Star brand and the British rock stars have been collaborating since 2014. They share the same values: pleasure, daring, and authenticity.
The El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Tribute to the Rolling Stones is a real Rock n’ Roll timepiece which picks up on the Rolling Stones’ style; the coated black titanium case used in this new limited edition introduces a very dark, contemporary, rock-style look which is pioneering in its use of materials.

At 45mm wide, this bold timepiece pays subtle tribute to the band’s heritage in the use of the embossed Union Jack motif along the rubber and calfskin strap. Features include a chronograph function with subdials and an opening in the black dial which allows you to see the beating heart of the legendary El Primero movement.

The band has announced that they will kick off their new 15-city North American Zip Code tour in San Diego on May 24th. The tour will make stops in Columbus, Minneapolis, Dallas, Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Detroit, and Buffalo, before wrapping in Quebec on July 15th at the Quebec City Summer Festival.
