David King,President of King Jewelers Nashville, Featured Alongside Gibson Guitars and Raymond Weil in Winter 2017 Edition of Revolution USA Magazine

Raymond Weil has long been a supporter of the music industry, with special edition watches dedicated to Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, David Bowie, and Bob Marley, among others. It’s no surprise that the brand eventually pursued a partnership with Gibson Guitars, juggernaut of the music industry and leading manufacturer of guitars. With Gibson’s ties to Nashville and the city’s reigning status of Music City USA, it makes sense that King Jewelers, the authorized Raymond Weil dealer in Nashville, would feature heavily in the promotion of the product.
The Raymond Weil and Gibson Guitars partnership has since yielded two Gibson watches; the Nabucco Nashville edition, based off the Gibson SG Standard, was debuted to much fanfare at an exclusive party hosted by King Jewelers in 2015, and now a Freelancer inspired by the Gibson Les Paul has been released to even greater acclaim. To further investigate what makes this partnership tick, Editor-in-Chief of Revolution USA Keith Strandberg visited Nashville to see what all the fuss was about.

During his stay in Music City, Strandberg visited King Jewelers to talk with David King about Nashville’s booming growth and why King feels the Gibson/Raymond Weil partnership was a match made in music heaven. David’s passion project, Rock Royalty, also makes an appearance throughout the article. Rock Royalty creates one-of-a-kind custom guitars for the musician (or music fan) in your life.
Pick up a copy of the Winter 2017 edition of Revolution USA magazine to learn more about Strandberg’s trip to Tennessee and read why he feels the watch industry and the guitar industry are more alike than they are different. Be sure to visit King Jewelers to explore Raymond Weil’s impressive watch lineup, and to shop the limited Gibson timepieces.

Collector’s Corner: The Zenith Pilot Ton-Up Embodies Rebellious Café Racer Spirit

This week’s featured hot, new watch release is the Pilot Ton-up from the historical Zenith watch manufacture. Initially previewed at Baselworld 2016, the Pilot Ton-up is inspired by the ‘Café Racer’ motorcycle movement that was born in England in the 1920s. These young and rebellious fans wanted a motorcycle that was both fast and customized, enabling them to ride from café to café on the British motorways.
The broad 45 mm-diameter aged steel case houses a legendary movement – the automatic El Primero 4069 chronograph calibre – and displays a vintage dial boasting perfect readability. Its virile charm and well-built mechanism infuse it with the “Café Racer” spirit: when speed and getting away from it all are synonymous with independence and authenticity.

Beneath the Ton-Up bodywork throbs a high-performance ‘engine’, the El Primero 4069 Automatic movement powers this masculine timepiece. The watch offers a power-reserve with a minimum of 50 hours and is finished with an oscillating weight with “Côtes de Genève” motif. The slate-grey toned dial with grained pattern has hands in black ruthenium, faceted and coated with SuperLuminova SLN GL beige to ensure excellent legibility. One of our favorite details on the Pilot Ton-Up is the unique watch strap with the green, oily nubuck leather strap with protective rubber lining and titanium pin buckle
Discover for yourself what makes the Zenith Pilot Ton-Up a watch unlike any other. King Jewelers is an authorized dealer of Zenith watches with an in-store boutique shop at our Miami, Florida showroom. In addition, Zenith timepieces exhibit every year at the Nashville Watch Fair in our Green Hills, Tennessee salon. For more information on this sought-after men’s timepiece, visit Zenith’s website.

The New TUDOR North Flag

Warm Up Your Wrist With The TUDOR North Flag

Today it’s cloudy and cold here at our luxury salon in Nashville, Tennessee and it has us thinking about one of the latest new additions to the already impressive TUDOR lineup. TUDOR, as you may know, is the sister brand to Rolex; their timepieces are made with the same top-quality materials and perfection-seeking craftsmanship that Rolex is known for, but at a much more affordable price point.
Not too long ago, TUDOR introduced the North Flag timepiece.  This sporty watch is meant for an adventurer who needs to be able to count on the fact that his timepiece will be in perfect working order at any given time. The North Flag seems to have at least been somewhat inspired by the TUDOR Oyster Prince, which was worn by all the party members of the British North Greenland Expedition of the early 1950s. As members of that expedition relied heavily on their timepieces to survive the harsh wilderness, TUDOR understands the importance of creating a reliable tool watch. While it’s unlikely that you’ll find yourself in those same extreme conditions, the North Flag timepiece aims reassure the wearer that should the worst arise, your watch will continue to exceed your expectations.

Visit Our Online TUDOR Portal Here!

The North Flag is available in two variations- steel on a black leather strap and steel on a steel bracelet. The leather model features yellow stitching along the strap, a subtle but striking complement to the yellow power reserve and seconds hand on the dial. At 40mm, the case is large but not uncomfortably so. It features a black dial with luminescent white indicators, 12 and 6 numerals, and hands for easy visibility. A power reserve indicator is featured at the 9 o’clock position, with a date display window opposite at the 3 o’clock position. It is covered by an anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and has a screw down crown for increased water resistance.
The North Flag has the distinction of being one of the first TUDOR models to be fitted with the Manufacture TUDOR MT5621 Movement. This movement was the first to be developed and produced by the brand and it is visible through the sapphire crystal case back.It is a self-winding mechanical movement with a bidirectional rotor system which has been officially certified by the COSC. It has a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz), is 33.8mm in diameter, 6.5mm thick, 28 jewels, and has a 70 hour power reserve. You can learn more about North Flag timepiece and TUDOR’s MT5621 movement by visiting their official website. You can schedule an appointment to view the North Flag in person and try it on for yourself by calling our Nashville salon at 615-724-5464

Featured Watch: Chanel J12 Blue Jeans

Chanel Brings Blue Jeans to the Next Level

When you are looking for a timeless ladies timepiece, a brand you absolutely can’t forget to explore is Chanel. Their delicate and feminine Premiere has been a top selling timepiece for decades and is now also offered in an array of modern variations. Still, the classic octagonal Premiere just isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Chanel’s ceramic J12 timepieces, however, are sporty staples that every woman should have in her watch repertoire.
While we mostly see the Chanel J12 in white or black ceramic, often accented by diamonds and touches of gold, we’re falling hard for the J12 Chromatic Blue Jeans Automatic Watch. As the name suggests, the J12 Chromatic Blue Jeans draws inspiration from everyone’s favorite blue denim. Hublot has had much success with a similar design in the past, but their versions are generally much larger and bolder. We’re more likely to associate Chanel with our favorite Little Black Dress, rather than our favorite pair of Levi’s, but after seeing this timepiece, that perception of the brand may change!

This unique J12 Chromatic from Chanel draws inspiration from everyone’s favorite blue jeans

Chanel’s J12 Chromatic Blue Jeans timepiece (reference number H4338) has a 38mm titanium ceramic and steel case with a unidirectional rotating bezel. This automatic watch comes with a blue alligator leather strap and an additional blue nylon strap for added versatility. The center dial is blue with a vertical satin finish which mimics the linear pattern of blue denim fabric. The outer dial is a stunning blue circular guilloche pattern with steel Arabic numerals and an angled date display window between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions.

The dial is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. A secure screw down crown allows watch to be water resistant up to 200 meters. As King Jewelers is an authorized Chanel retailer, every Chanel purchase comes with all applicable boxes, paperwork, letter of appraisal for insurance purposes, and a 2 year manufacture warranty. You can learn more about this timepiece and schedule an appointment to see it in person by visiting our website.
We think the Chanel J12 Chromatic Blue Jeans Watch is stunning- what do you think?

Hublot Classic Fusion Aero Chronograph Stuns in Rose Gold

Hublot Impresses with Rose Gold Edition of a Classic

We thought we had been sufficiently impressed with Hublot’s Classic Fusion Aero Chronograph and its various forms. Little did we know, the best was yet to come.
Recently, the Nashville salon was privileged enough to receive an all Rose Gold version of the statement-making timepiece by Hublot. It’s only been in the store for a week, but it’s already making a big impression. The recent upswing in rose gold men’s timepieces has been widely followed, and we’re not the only ones enamored with this new trend.
At 45mm, the Classic Fusion Aero Chronograph is a bold watch, to say the least. A watch that size, in an all gold case no less, means it won’t be worn by the faint of heart. We acknowledge that something so “loud” might not be for everyone; still, if nothing else, you have to at least appreciate the impressive mechanics behind the face. Beauty is only skin deep, after all.
The self-winding chronograph movement is contained within a 45mm 18K rose gold case. The skeleton dial, with beautifully contrasted rose gold hands and indicators, allows you to see the movement in all it’s glory at all times. Features include a chronograph function and date display window. It is covered by scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and the 18K rose gold bracelet has a deployment buckle.

New Arrival! BR-X1 Skeleton Chronograph Carbone Forgé

Bell & Ross BR-X1 Skeleton Chronograph Carbone Forge

Bell & Ross Reveals New Limited Edition of 250 Pieces

Bell & Ross has impressed us yet again! The BR-X1 line, revealed back in 2014, brought us an entire collection filled with sporty, high-tech chronographs which somehow managed to be both sophisticated and bulky. Now they’ve introduced the BR-X1: Carbone Forgé, a revolutionary timepiece which utilizes compressed carbon fibers to create a deep black, non-porous, water-resistant, single-unit case with clean edges.
Bell & Ross BR-X1 Carbone Forge
The square case is lined with a ceramic and rubber “bumper” which will help protect the watch from impact damage. As with most Bell & Ross timepieces, the back of the BR-X1- made from grade 5 PVD titanium- features a small, round opening which reveals the beating heart of the balance. Made from grey-tinted sapphire crystal and featuring appliqué metal indicators with photo-luminescent inserts, the dial forms a clear window through which the exceptional movement can be admired. The faceted, Superluminova-filled hands and appliqué indicators offer easy legibility.

The central hour and minute hands are read traditionally, while the small seconds hand is positioned at 3 o’clock. The skeleton date dial is positioned at 6  o’clock. Instead of a hand, the minute timer on the chronograph function features an ultra-light aluminum disc resembling the blades of a turbine. The hand on the central second counter indicates quarters of a second. Essential for calculating speeds, the tachymeter scale appears on the flange. The chronograph hands feature subtle red accents. The grooved rubber strap has a black PVD steel buckle.

Smartwatch to be Unveiled at Baselworld 2015

Frederique_Constant_Smart_Watch

Frederique Constant and Alpina to Release The Swiss Horological Smartwatch, Powered by MotionX®, at Baselworld 2015

2015 is still in it’s infancy, and it’s already proven to be a year of unprecedented progress in the Luxury Timepiece Industry. Technology giant Apple released information about their smartwatch to mixed reviews, but Swiss watch brands still felt an oncoming threat and struggled to stay relevant in today’s technology-fueled world.
Montblanc was the first brand to really commit to this new age- creating a watch strap which could instantly transform (almost) any watch into a smartwatch. The concept was great and gave consumers who loved their existing timepiece the option to simply give it an easily-removable facelift. Still, as first of it’s kind there were bound to be some setbacks. The position of the screen (underneath the wrist) makes it almost impossible to avoid banging it into your desk, counter, etc on a daily basis. There’s also the fact that it was made to fit a specific Montblanc model, not just any timepiece you have laying around, and it is only available in one size; your go-to watch just may not fit the bill. All in all, the concept was innovative and ultimately very impressive.
The real game-changer, however, is set to be released at Baselworld 2015 when Frederique Constant and Alpina plan on revealing The Swiss Horological Smartwatch. Two pieces are set to be equipped with the cutting-edge smart technology powered by MotionX®, and all without sacrificing the classic look of a Swiss timepiece. There are no digital screens to be found, only classic dials in analog form. The wearable technology syncs with either your iPhone or Android smartphone to track of your daily activity and sleep habits.
