King Jewelers Partnered with Mikimoto to Sponsor the 2018 Nashville Symphony Fashion Show at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on April 17th
King Jewelers has sponsored the Nashville Symphony Fashion Show at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center multiple times in the past, and this year was no different. King Jewelers partnered with Mikimoto, masters of cultured pearl jewelry, to showcase their stunning jewelry to a sold-out crowd. The fashion show featured acclaimed fashion designer Jason Wu’s Fall 2018 collection. Wu has dressed an impressive list of celebrity clients, including First Lady Michelle Obama, Scandal star Kerry Washington, Westworld star Thandie Newton, and Big Little Lies star Reese Witherspoon. Grammy-winning country group, Little Big Town, impressed guests with their mesmerizing harmonies at the conclusion of the fashion show.
Ticket proceeds for the event support the Symphony’s artistic, educational, and community programs, and a portion of the night’s Mikimoto sales were also donated to the Symphony. Those who were unable to attend the sold-out event were able to shop the impressive Mikimoto collection at a trunk show in our Green Hills area salon the following day. The Symphony Fashion Show and the In-Store Mikimoto Trunk Show the following day were an overwhelming success, and we hope to partner with Mikimoto again in the future to once again bring Nashville the finest selection of couture pearl jewelry.
Jaquet Droz Eclipse Onyx in Nashville, TN: A closer look at the sporty Jaquet Droz
This week on Collector’s Corner, we try on the creative and minimal 43mm Steel Jaquet Droz Eclipse Onyx at our Nashville location. We are instantly drawn to the carved black onyx dial and the disc at 6 o’clock that works with the moon-phase complication. This timepiece is incredibly beautiful! The aesthetic is classic and understated which allows the delicate details to truly stand out. The intricate details of the smiling rhodium moon is charming and the 8 radiating rhodium-plated star-shaped appliques are borrowed from the Jaquet Droz logo. The rhodium-plated hour, minute, and date hands are all sharp and clean making it very easy to read. The date and day window is found tucked neatly below the Jaquet Droz logo at 12 o’clock. The smooth contrast between the extremely dark onyx and the steel case and appliques works in harmony to give this timepiece a sleek and masculine feel. This mesmerizing watch is powered by an automatic Jaquet Droz 6553L2 calibre movement that is double barreled with 26 jewels. Not only does this movement power the moon phase complication but also includes an impressive 68-hour power reserve. It’s water resistant to 30 meters and is paired with a black rolled-edge alligator strap and steel pin-buckle that takes this timepiece to another level of cool. This is the watch that is truly versatile and can hit a wide range of the style spectrum.
