About the Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary “Bayside Blue” Model
The Nissan GT-R “Bayside Blue” 50th-anniversary model has quickly become a cult favorite among sports car enthusiasts due to its historic performance, 565 horse-power, as well as enhanced energy efficiency. This car, much like the sports watch made in its image, wasn’t created to look “sexy.” Rather, the ultimate goal was to create something with high-performance potential. Since the GT-R’s main goal was the ability to turn laps as quickly as possible, Grand Seiko used a light-weight ceramic/titanium hybrid for the case of this timepiece, bestowing it with optimum durability. This edition of the GT-R utilizes aggressive downshifts and more stable suspension to complement the new titanium muffler.
Exterior Features of the Grand Seiko GT-R SBGC229
The blue color found on the bezel and casing of this timepiece is the exact same hue os the Bayside GT-R. The silver-white, textured dial, resembling the signature racing stripe, showcases a date window at three o’clock. two subdials rest at two and four, opposite the uniquely-shaped small seconds at nine o’clock. The spring drive power reserve indicator resides in its designated spot near hour marker seven. On the exhibition case-back of this sports watch, we admire a closer look at the Spring Drive movement. We discover the GT-R anniversary emblem engraved into the 18K yellow gold oscillating weight, representing the improved accuracy of +/- 0.5 seconds per day.
