IWC releases a sneak preview of the 2013 Ingenieur Automatic AMG Black Series Ceramic. Mercedes AMG editions are well known for higher performance, better handling, and overall aggressive aesthetics over the standard models. The “black series” does not necessarily reference the color option but the highest level of power and aesthetic performance that Mercedes offers in their production vehicles.
While incorporating the signature branding from Mercedes this IWC Ingenieur also reflects the next step of performance and styling upgrades such as a much more sportier than the traditional Ingenieur.
This watch contains IWC’s in-house automatic mechanical 80110 calibre movement. It also features a very cool black rotor treatment. This powerful movement is housed in a 46mm (14.5mm thick) black ceramic case.
Much like the Mercedes Black Editions, the Ingenieur collection has always pushed the boundaries of performance and innovation. Originally launched in 1955 and since then houses its automatic movement in a soft-iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields. It was also one of the first Swiss manufacturers to create the bidirectional automatic movement. The Ingenieur is paired perfectly for the adventurist who seek passion in extreme conditions.
