Bovet New Releases

Bovet SIHH 2019 Timepiece Releases

Bovet has been at the forefront of Haute Horlogerie since 1812, by utilizing heritage, innovation, emotion, and passion. King Jewelers encompasses of these values in everything we do. Hence why we’re proud to be a trusted retailer of such a prestigious brand. This year, Bovet released a series of new timepieces at the SIHH convention in Geneva, Switzerland. We’re here to inform you with a recap of some of the most noteworthy masterpieces.

Bovet Recital 26 Brainstorm Chapter One

Recital 26 Brainstorm Chapter One

To begin, Bovet introduced the Recital 26 Brainstorm Chapter One, R260001 which tests the limits of innovation in the watchmaking industry. First off, the case of this watch is made entirely of sapphire, featuring an inclined facial structure for easier readability. Although we’ve seen sapphire cases before, never with the unique slanted face. Sapphire was an excellent choice because it’s the second hardest material, after diamond, and it weighs less than titanium. The tilted shape of the case made it especially challenging for engineers and technicians to build the movement accordingly.
Bovet specializes in showcasing the mechanics of watchmaking as a form of art. Regulated by a patented double-faced flying tourbillon, this modernized movement now reveals a variable inertia balance for even more precise timekeeping. Building this type of balance wheel is a rare skill that that less than ten watchmakers in the world have properly mastered. The decoration on the bridge carriage takes a minimum of two days to complete alone. We can’t help but admire the rare talents and creativity Pascal Raffy portrays through the unparalleled features of this timepiece.

Special Features:

Case: Dimier, Sapphire with titanium lugs and case-back
Diameter: 48.00 mm
Thickness: 15.50 mm
Dial: Propeller-shaped dial
Strap: full skin alligator
Water Resistance: 30 m

Bovet Virtuoso Double Time Zone Flying Tourbillon

Virtuoso IX Double Time Zone 10-Day Power Reserve Big Date Flying Tourbillon

Next, the Virtuoso IX Double Time Zone 10-Day Power Reserve Big Date Flying Tourbillon, AIVIX001, continues the amazement and enthralls watch enthusiasts. This timepiece features the Tourbillon Amadeo Fleurier Virtuoso IX system. This allows the watch to be transformed into a reversible wristwatch, a pocket watch, and a table clock without any special tools. Intricately organized, the dial of this timepiece reveals a unique, unconventional design. On one side, the minute hand is centered on the dial, while the hour hand rests at two o’clock. At ten o’clock another subdial displays your second timezone with a small window, showcasing the city name. On the right side of the dial, a large date window opposites a power reserve indicator.
On the reverse side of the Virtuoso IX case, we discover the hour and minute hands centered over the entire movement. Essentially, there is no actual dial present, rather a series of negative spaces that reveal the movement. The small opening in the twelve o’clock position introduces a differential spherical winding system that specializes in gathering ten days of power reserve. The timekeeping aspect is regulated by a patented double-faced flying tourbillon. Furthermore, both sides of the watch are feature bold blue, luxuriously contrasting the high-polished red gold case.

Special Features:

Case: Amadeo, 18K red gold convertible case
Diameter: 46.30 mm
Thickness: 16.00 mm
Dial: Blue flinque and engraved blue bridges on back side
Strap: Full skin alligator
Water Resistance: 30mBovet Recital 21 Perpetual Calendar

Recital 21 Perpetual Calendar With Retrograde Date

Bovet also released the Recital 21 Perpetual Calendar With Retrograde Date, R210001. Similar to the Recital 26 Brainstorm, This watch depicts the writing slope case design as well. Additionally, this is the first timepiece from the Dimier collection to feature the perpetual calendar. The minute and hour hands on this watch are centered on the small blue dial framed by the date indicator.  Surrounding the dial is a rotating retrograde index that circles the hours and minutes. Not to mention, the day and months appear in vertical apertures resting at twelve and six o’clock. To the left of the hours and minutes, lies a smaller open-faced subdial that indicates seconds with a clear view to the wheel it rotates on. In addition, we admire a leap year indicator located at three o’clock.
On the movement side of the watch, we discover the patented double coaxial seconds mechanism. Not only that, but we also find the power reserve indicator towards the bottom of the back face. The guaranteed five-hour power supply stems from a unique single barrel actuated by a balance spring. Also, this rare design was completed from start to finish in the Bovet 1822 workshops. The surface of this movement reveals the Cotes de Geneve design which looks like parallel curved ribs engraved into the metal. This watch is available in titanium as well as red gold for versatility depending on the style of each collector.

Special Features:

Case: Dimier, 18K red gold ardillon
Diameter: 44.40 mm
Thickness: 15.50 mm
Dial: Blue circular brushed with Cotes de Geneve
Strap: Full skin alligator
Water Resistance: 30m

Bovet Recital 23 Moon Phase Blue Strap

Recital 23 Moon Phase

The next Bovet watch we wanted to discuss is the Recital 23 Moon Phase, R230008-SD123, which is operated by a self-winding mechanical movement. Featuring the “Fleurisanne” motif, the oscillations from this movement power the two barrels that provide 62 hours of power reserve. Additionally, this oval-shaped hemispherical dome shares a moon phase indicator and a timekeeping subdial at twelve o’clock and six o’ clock respectively. Moreover, the movement built within the “writing slope” case, reveals four complications created specifically for this case-style.
Framed by 22ct diamonds set into 18K gold, the three-dimensional lunar surface of the dial depicts luminescent material in honor of the cosmic energy seen in space. Furthermore, the high-precision mechanism built to regulate the moon phase only requires correction once every 122 years. Bovet has always been passionate about the artistry that goes into each of his timepieces. This one, in particular, requires over 24 hours to complete. The astronomy translated onto the dial not only symbolizes the cosmos but also, seamless integration of artistic creativity and a passion of the celestial world.

Special Features

Case: Dimier, 18K white gold ardillon
Thickness: 14.40 mm
Dial: Aventurine Glass with 10 round diamond indexes
Strap: Full skin alligator
Water Resistance: 30m

Bovet Recital 27

Recital 27

Finally, we’re excited to discuss the Bovet Recital 27, showcasing a double hemisphere moon phase indicator at six o’clock. The red gold “writing slope” case houses lateral correctors for the moon phase as well as the date. The minute and hour hands are centered on the dial, while smaller subdials rest at nine o’clock and three o’clock. This timepiece also has a second and third timezone indicator for those collectors who frequently travel. Displaying 24 cities and a day/night indicator, this timepiece sits in a 46.30mm case available in red gold or titanium.

SIHH Cartier Timepiece Releases 2019

It’s officially the last day of the watch convention in Switzerland and we are excited to talk about the new releases from the SIHH Cartier 2019 collection. This luxury brand of elegant watches honors the traditions of looking past the fleeting fashions. Strategically, Cartier creates styles out of its extraordinary history, travels and encounters. Each piece showcases exceptional personality through the artistic portrayal of the legendary stories behind Cartier. King Jewelers is proud to carry such a prestigious watch brand and recap some of these remarkable watches.

Cartier Prive Tonneau SIHH

Cartier Prive Tonneau

To start off, it should be noted that the re-release of the Cartier Prive Tonneau has watch enthusiasts buzzing. As one of the earliest watches ever created from this brand, the Tonneau dates all the way back to 1906. The sleek, elongated dial bestows this timepiece with a timelessly contemporary aesthetic. Although two different versions of the Tonneau launched, the Large Hand-Wound Model is the closest time-only replication of the original version. The elegance of this simplistic masterpiece conveys more complex attributes than perceived at first sight. This watch utilizes convex and concave crystal and case details in order to hug the shape of the wrist. This watch rests on a thin leather strap, complementing the elegance of this iconic blast from the past.

Cartier Tonneau Watch Extra-Large Skeleton Dual Time SIHH

Cartier Tonneau Watch Extra-Large Skeleton Dual Time

Another Tonneau was released at the 2019 SIHH watch fair. Going by the name of the Cartier Tonneau Watch Extra-Large Skeleton Dual Time, this masterpiece in as enthralling as it appears. Also from the Prive Collection, the brand released a version of the Tonneau infused with all the modernistic technologies of the 21st century. Similar to the original Tonneau, this one also showcases a double-curved design. However, the curvature and dimensions of the barrel offer a more masculine look. The skeletal dial allows the consumer to receive an up close and personal look at the intricate movements seen in both time zones. Not to mention, this timepiece also reveals two crowns with cabochons embellished with sapphire stones.

Cartier Tank Chinoise Red SIHH

Cartier Tank Chinoise Red

Cartier released a few pre-SIHH watches as a little appetizer for their audience. One of those watches goes by the name of the Tank Chinoise Red. Embellished with brilliant round white diamonds and vibrant rubies, this quartz timepiece symbolizes the admired architecture of Chinese temples. In addition, the black-lacquered dial features Roman numerals only at six o’clock and twelve o’clock, maintaining a simple sophistication. Resting on a thin black alligator leather strap, the Tank Chinoise Red is limited to approximately 100 pieces. Moreover, the elongated rectangular shape of this timepiece remains sleek with sharp lines and edges for the contemporary woman.

Cartier Baignoire Allongee Celadon SIHH

Cartier Baignoire Allongee Celadon

Next, Cartier introduces the new and improved Baignoire Allongee Celadon. This bathtub-shaped watch, originally designed in 1912, reveals a hyper-elongated case. This watch shows off a white gold case entirely embellished with Paraiba tourmalines, emeralds, and brilliant-cut diamonds. Unlike the previous Baignoire Allongee Celadon, this face has replaced the elongated Roman numerals with diamond details. The vibrant green emeralds against the vibrant blue tourmalines, bestow this watch with an almost aquatic aesthetic. In contrast, the diamond encrusted dial pops against the bold colors of the casing. The diffused placement of the tourmalines and emeralds mirror the intriguing barnacles that grow on the bottom of regal sailing ships.

Cartier Santos Chronograph "Extra Large" SIHHCartier Santos Chronograph “Extra Large”

The final piece that we want to recap is the reinvented Cartier Santos collection. This year, they have added a chronograph complication to the three released models. Cartier exclusively designed this masterpiece in the “Extra Large” size. The reborn Santos chronograph launched in stainless steel with black ADLC steel bezel, stainless steel with 18K yellow gold bezel, and solid 18K rose gold. Showcasing a variety of different straps and bracelets, the QuickSwitch system allows the consumer to easily change your band without the use of tools. Cartier has revamped the 1904-CH MC movement in order to place the start/stop pusher on the left side of the dial. The rest button has been implemented into the crown itself to improve functionality. A sports watch with this kind of symmetry in a casing makes it a rare and valuable timepiece.

IWC Timezoner Spitfire EditionPilot’s Watch Timezoner Spitfire Edition “The Longest Flight”

To begin, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Spitfire Edition “The Longest Flight” was designed to honor the two Spitfire pilots, Steve Boultbee-Brooks and Matt Jones. In order to assist the two pilots on their circumnavigation of the globe, IWC uses a simple rotation of the bezel to set the watch to the appropriate timezone. This means, that the hour hand, 24-hour display, and the date all adapt to the timezone in which the user chooses. In addition, the case is made from stainless steel, featuring a black dial and date window at three o’clock. The strap on this timepiece is green textile, to symbolize the colors found in the Spitfire’s cockpit. Revealing the IWC manufactured 82760 caliber, this watch presents Pellaton winding as well as a non-wearing 60-hour power reserve.

The hunter green dial against the bronze casing, resting on a brown calfskin strap bestows this watch a nostalgic look. Similarly, the case will develop a patina film over time to enhance the classic vintage aesthetic. The 69380 caliber has a classic column wheel design, creating a rugged durability. Stopped hours and minutes can be seen in two subdials at nine o’clock and twelve o’clock. Furthermore, a 46-hour power reserve presents itself through the bidirectional pawl-winding system. In order to shield the watch from any outside magnetic fields, this timepiece has a soft-iron inner casing.

IWC Pilot Top Gun CerataniumPilot’s Watch Double Chronograph Top Gun Ceratanium

The Top Gun watches by IWC have been dedicated to the US Navy’s Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program since 2007. This year, they have revealed the Double Chronograph Ceratanium model IW371815. Ceratanium, an IWC-made alloy made up of a blend of ceramic and titanium makes up the casing, bezel, and crown of this timepiece. In short, the jet-black 44mm case is as lightweight as it is durable. In the same way, it has anti-corrosive and scratch resistant properties. The date and day display is found at three o’clock below the classic IWC logo. Uniquely, the monochromatic look of this watch is modern, sleek and extremely masculine. Showcasing the doppelchronograph movement, the 44mm case is complete with a matte black-on-black dial.

IWC Big Pilot Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition Le Petit Prince

Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition “Le Petit Prince”

Finally, we introduce the Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition “Le Petit Prince.” For the first time in IWC history, this watch reveals an 18-carat hard variant of red-gold casing. The alloy’s microstructure is altered by the sophisticated production process in order to make the watch 5-10 times more water resistant. This red gold compliments the deep blue dial gorgeously, creating a luxuriously polished masculine look. Resting on a rich brown calfskin strap, we are enthralled by the regal appearance radiating from this watch.
In the same fashion, the constant-force mechanism is patented and disconnects the escapement from the direct flow of energy from the wheel train. With every passing second, the tension in the balance spring increases. Equally important, the latter stores the energy temporarily before releasing it in even spurts to the escape wheel. Between this process and the tourbillon, this watch guarantees an incredibly high level of precision. The 94805 caliber showcases a little prince standing on a perpetual moon phase display. Using two barrels, this watch has a 96-hour power reserve.

Special Features:

Case: 18ct hard red gold
Dial: 46.2 mm
Crystal: Sapphire glass, convex, anti-reflective coating
Caliber: 94805 caliber
Movement: Manual-winding
Power Reserve: 96 hours
Vibration: 18000.0 vph
Calendar: Moon phase display
