IWC’s Newest Aquatimer Arrives in Nashville: Discover the Adventurous Spirit Inspiring the IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Limited Edition La Cumbre Volcano

This week on Collector’s Corner, we’re discussing an exciting new limited edition timepiece that just arrived in our Nashville salon: the IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Edition La Cumbre Volcano. We love all of IWC’s limited edition Aquatimers (anyone remember the Galapagos Islands edition?) because they invoke the feeling of excitement surrounding adventurous expeditions into the unknown. The La Cumbre Volcano edition, we’re happy to report, doesn’t disappoint in the slightest.
For seven years now, IWC has worked closely with the Charles Darwin Foundation to perserve the fragile ecosystem of the Galapagos Islands. You may remember that Darwin’s best-known contributions to the scientific community followed evolution of finches in the Galapagos. Since their partnership with the Charles Darwin Foundation began back in 2009, IWC has dedicated special Aquatimer editions to the islands and the latest addition to the collection is no exception. The La Cumbre Volcano moniker refers to the La Cumbre volcano on the island of Fernandina in the Galapagos.

The Aquatimer Chronograph Edition La Cumbre Volcano features a mechanical chronograph movement contained within a 44mm rubber coated stainless steel case. The mechanical internal/external rotating bezel features the SafeDive system is luminescent, for ease of use while diving in deep water. Features include a 68-hour power reserve when fully wound, date display at the 3 o’clock position, stopwatch function with minutes and seconds, flyback function, and small hacking seconds. It is covered by convex, anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The watch, designed for exploring the ocean deep, is water-resistant to 30 bar, or approximately 300m. This limited edition Aquatimer is limited to just 500 pieces world-wide.

This is the first entry of our new blog series, Collector’s Corner, where we’ll highlight the latest and greatest of the luxury Swiss watch world every week. Today, we’re kicking things off with the new Blue edition of the Calibre de Cartier Diver, available now in our Nashville salon.
We’ve always been big fans of the Calibre de Cartier Diver. Whether you prefer the more classic look of the original editions, or the more striking new editions such as the ADLC coated steel and rose gold combination, it’s undeniable that the Calibre de Cartier is, to put it plainly, a beautiful watch. Cartier’s latest additions to the Calibre de Cartier Diver lineup deviate from the rest; while the dial and bezel of all prior Calibre de Cartier Diver models were black, the newest editions are blue. King Jewelers Nashville has two of these new blue editions in stock at the time of this posting: stainless steel and two-tone stainless steel and rose gold.

As with prior models, the blue versions of the Calibre de Cartier Diver have self-winding mechanical movements contained within a 42mm case with a unidirectional rotating bezel. Features include a date display window and a small seconds subdial. They are covered by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and feature a blue rubber strap. Perfect for all your summer water sports, this timepiece is water resistant to 300m!

TUDOR Creates New Version of the Popular Heritage Black Bay Timepiece

Our best selling TUDOR timepiece, the Heritage Black Bay, is a striking watch fit for every occasion. Until now, the Black Bay was available in red or blue, with the option to purchase either color on a stainless steel bracelet or a distressed leather strap. Today, TUDOR unveiled a new color choice for this crowd favorite: vintage black.

Like the red edition that came before it, the new 41mm steel Black Bay Black features cream colored indexes and “Snowflake” hands, lending an extra splash of character and an overall vintage look to the watch. With it’s 200m waterproof rating, the Black Bay is perfect for dive enthusiasts and casual swimmers alike. TUDOR tends to pay homage to its original timepieces with its latest releases, and the brand has continued that trend with the Black Bay. The domed sapphire crystal and classic lines are reminiscent of TUDOR’s most famous dive watch, the 1954 Submariner. Not only are these watches both mechanically and visually spectacular, but they’re also extremely affordable. The steel bracelet version will be available for $3,425.00 and the leather strap version will be available for just $3,100.00.
