The 23rd Annual Chukkers for Charity Polo Match benefitting the Rochelle Center and Saddle Up!, took place on September 7th. King Jewelers took the opportunity to continue our annual support of this philanthropic cause.  King Jewelers participated in the silent auction by donating a Swiss Army timepiece. Over its 23 year history, this philanthropy has raised more than $3.3 million dollars. The charity raised $260,000 in 2018 alone! Importantly, all the proceeds from the Chukkers for Charity event go to the Saddle Up! program and the Rochelle Center.

About Saddle Up!

Saddle Up! is an organization that provides children and young adults with disabilities the opportunity to develop and grow through therapeutic, recreational and educational activities with horses. Saddle Up opens its doors to more than 1,300 children with different types of disabilities. This program also provides more than 50,000 hours of therapeutic services. Furthermore, they have cared for and housed more than 130 horses in 25 years. Saddle Up is most-commonly know for its recreational therapeutic riding and hippotherapy. Recreational therapeutic riding has a positive effect on postural control and balance. Hippotherapy is a hybrid of physical and occupational therapy that helps to improve coordination, balance, and strength.

About the Rochelle Center

The Rochelle Center was founded in 1968 by long-time educator, W.R. Rochelle. This program raises money to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It helps them to learn and understand how to become as independent and self-sufficient as possible. For example, the center provides employment programs, daycare services, and residential housing for those who attend. There is a place for everyone with moderate to severe disabilities, therefore, catering to an incredibly wide audience.

The 22nd Annual Chukkers for Charity Polo Match and Car Show took place on September 8th. King Jewelers took the chance to continue our annual support of this worthy cause.  Without a doubt, King Jewelers participated in the silent auction by donating a ladies Bell & Ross timepiece. Over its 22 year history, the charity has raised more than 2.3 million dollars. The charity raised $200,000 this year! Importantly, all the proceeds from the Chukkers for Charity event go to the Saddle Up! program and the Rochelle Center.

Saddle Up!

Saddle Up! is an organization that gives children and youth with disabilities the opportunity to grow and develop through therapeutic, educational and recreational activities with horses. In addition, Saddle Up serves more than 1,300 children with disabilities. As well as provides more than 50,000 hours of services. Furthermore, they have cared for more than 130 horses in 25 years. Not to mention, they offer recreational therapeutic riding and hippotherapy. Hippotherapy is a blend of physical and occupational therapy.
